Follow your nose to Mild Bistro in Ubud, Bali! This popular spot near Ubud Palace is famous for its irresistible grilled skewers and vibrant atmosphere. A must-try!
Wandering the main streets of Ubud, especially near the majestic Ubud Palace, you'll inevitably catch a whiff of something truly enticing. That smoky, savory aroma wafting through the air? It's the signature scent of Mild Bistro, a local favorite for incredible grilled meats. Call it clever marketing, but that captivating smell is a surefire way to lure you in!

Unless you've just finished a feast, that enticing scent will have you ready to dive in.
📍 3-1, Jl. Monkey Forest, Ubud, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80754 Indonesia
You'll find Mild Bistro conveniently located right on the main thoroughfare, directly across from the iconic Ubud Palace. Seriously, the aroma alone was enough to pull me off the street!

The ambiance inside is welcoming and laid-back, though as expected for a prime tourist spot in Bali, most of the diners were fellow international travelers rather than locals.
While waiting for my order, I decided to check out their Google Maps rating – and lo and behold, it was a stellar 4.9 stars! "Okay, this Ubud spot must be legit," I thought. Surprisingly, it wasn't overly crowded, which just meant more space for me to enjoy!
With that impressive rating in mind, my anticipation for the food definitely ratcheted up a notch!
I decided to go big with the assorted grilled skewers and a classic steak.

The assorted skewers were absolutely divine, and honestly, even the little roasted potatoes on the side were packed with flavor! They were perfect on their own or dipped in the accompanying sauces.
Now, the steak wasn't bad by any means – it was perfectly decent. But when you're talking about a "must-try" restaurant in Bali, it didn't quite hit those legendary heights. If you're going, definitely prioritize the assorted grill. They also had pasta on the menu, but let's be real, I was there for the smoky, grilled goodness!

The smoothies were also top-notch. I tried a mango/orange blend and a mixed berry concoction. While both were excellent, the mixed berry smoothie definitely won my vote!
One thing to note: grilled dishes, and seemingly all their menu items, take a little time to prepare. It's definitely a place to visit when you have some leisure time on your hands.
While I could appreciate the quality, we had squeezed this visit into a tighter schedule, and I did feel a little antsy wondering why our food was taking so long. If you're on a strict timeline, keep this in mind!
That said, I managed to keep myself entertained – snapping photos of the food and the restaurant's cool interior. I even popped next door to grab some extra currency! So, the wait wasn't exactly boring, but it's something to consider if you've got a packed itinerary.
If you're near Ubud Palace or the market, and that irresistible craving for grilled meat hits, let that amazing aroma guide you to Mild Bistro. It's a true Bali gem!
Mild Bistro draws passersby with the enticing aroma of grilled meat. It is located on Jl. Monkey Forest, right on the main street in front of Ubud Palace.
The article highly praised the assorted skewers, mentioning that even the baby potatoes were delicious. The steak was considered decent but not up to the standard of a top Bali restaurant.
Yes, since the menu items are grilled, it tends to take some time for the food to be served. Therefore, it's advisable to consider this if you have a tight schedule.
