The Langham Shenzhen 5-Star Accommodation Review

As I planned my trip to Shenzhen,

I paid a little extra attention to choosing our accommodation.

It was a babymoon at the time,

and also our 10th wedding anniversary,

so I really wanted to relax in style at a 5-star hotel in Shenzhen this time!

Traveling with a child meant a pool was a must,

and I also considered the location to ensure easy access to attractions.

After weighing several options, the Shenzhen hotel we chose was

The Langham Shenzhen.

Having stayed there myself, I found it had a classic charm,

different from modern, newly-built hotels.

The staff service, the pool, and even the breakfast made it a truly satisfying stay for our family trip!

Since we planned to explore various places in Shenzhen by taxi,

the hotel's location was a key factor for us.

Rather than being right in front of a specific tourist spot,

we wanted accommodation that made it easy to travel to multiple locations,

and The Langham Shenzhen fit our travel style perfectly.

All the places we wanted to visit, like Huaqiangbei, Talent Park, and Coco Park,

were just a short taxi ride away (usually 15-20 minutes).

The airport was also approximately 30-40 minutes from the hotel.

2. Hotel Basic Information

Accommodation Name: The Langham Shenzhen

Room Type: Deluxe Room (2 beds)

Check-in: 15:00

Check-out: 12:00

The hotel lobby itself

wasn't extremely spacious, but

the classic chandeliers and staircase

were truly impressive.

Instead of the bright, modern ambiance

often seen in newly built hotels these days,

it had a strong sense of old-world charm, and

I actually preferred this atmosphere.

When I booked on Trip.com,

I mentioned in the request that it was our babymoon

and 10th wedding anniversary.

When we entered the room,

they had beautifully decorated the bed!

I hadn't explicitly expected any special service,

so this made it even more delightful.

The staff were incredibly friendly too.

I still remember having a little small talk with the staff member

who helped us with our luggage, and finding out they were a Girls' Generation fan!

I believe that for a 5-star hotel, service is just as important as the facilities,

so our first impression was excellent.

3. Room Condition

We booked a Deluxe Room with two beds

and were assigned a room on the 13th floor.

What I loved most when we entered the room was the

ambiance!

It was adorned with a focus on deep brown colors,

giving it an antique yet classic feel.

The beds weren't too hard or

overly soft; they were just the right amount of plush.

After a day of exploring during our trip,

it was perfect for relaxing and lying down comfortably.

The pillows weren't uncomfortable at all,

making it easy to get a really good night's sleep.

Since this was a babymoon trip,

getting proper rest at the accommodation was really important,

so the bedding condition was very satisfying.

When we actually used the bathroom,

there were no issues with drainage,

and the amenities provided were from Jo Loves.

This is the second brand launched by Jo Malone,

so it's definitely something that hotel amenity enthusiasts will notice!

And of course, the Pomelo scent was wonderful.

Disposable toothbrush and toothpaste kits were also provided.

Chinese hotels are generally generous with complimentary water,

providing enough so you don't need to buy extra,

though the minibar was chargeable.

We had a view overlooking a swimming pool at another property,

and it was prettier than expected, so I found myself gazing out quite often.

During our stay, we noticed a power outlet was slightly loose,

so we requested a repair. When we returned after going out,

they had fixed it neatly while we were away.

Compared to newer hotels, the facilities might feel a bit older,

but seeing how quickly they resolved issues

left us with the impression that the hotel excels more in management and service than in the newness of its facilities!

4. Amenities

Breakfast

06:30-10:30 / 2nd Floor

Overall, the food was delicious,

and there was a wide variety of dishes suitable for children,

making it highly satisfying as a family travel accommodation.

Especially for some made-to-order items like noodles,

instead of waiting in front after ordering,

you simply place a card on your table,

and the finished dish is brought directly to your seat.

This system

made the experience quite convenient.

Outdoor Pool

08:00-20:00 / Open April-November / 5th Floor

One of the main reasons I chose The Langham Shenzhen

was precisely to enjoy their outdoor pool!

Shenzhen tends to have warm weather,

but many outdoor pools only open from May.

Since we traveled in April,

we looked for a place that opened in April,

and The Langham Shenzhen had both a cold pool and a lukewarm pool,

making it perfect for enjoying with our child.

Swim caps were mandatory for the indoor pool,

but optional for the outdoor pool!

5. Price

The Langham Shenzhen hotel,

based on Trip.com's lowest weekday price,

is around ~$139 per night.

(Based on a standard Deluxe Room for two people)

Prices can vary depending on your travel dates,

number of guests, booking time, and other factors,

so make sure to double-check!

Since this was a babymoon, I was more particular

about the accommodation's condition than usual.

I was looking for a hotel where I could swim with my child, and

The Langham Shenzhen met all our criteria—

from its location and rooms to the pool,

breakfast, and staff service.
