Depending on your ticket, you might be able to enter just one park or both. Since the price varies accordingly, it's essential to understand the differences between each park before purchasing your tickets.

1. Differences Between Disneyland Resort Parks in LA

LA is a paradise for theme park enthusiasts, and its flagship theme park is, of course, Disneyland Resort in LA.
Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are located right next to each other, but their atmospheres and signature attractions are quite different.
Since the number of parks you can enter and the price vary depending on your ticket, you first need to decide whether you want to visit just one park or both.

First, the park where you'll find the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle, which usually comes to mind when people say 'Disneyland,' is Disneyland Park.
If you love Disney characters and classic enchantment, or if you're visiting with children, Disneyland Park will likely be a better fit for you.
It's also great fun to watch the parades and characters, and browse the souvenir shops,
and there are plenty of rides to enjoy without too much intensity.
While Disneyland Resort's castle in LA might not be as grand in scale compared to those in other Disney parks around the world, it's where the daily Disney castle fireworks show takes place!

California Adventure Park is recommended for those who love more thrilling rides.
Signature rides include Radiator Springs Racers, Incredicoaster, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
Another notable attraction is the Ferris wheel featuring Mickey Mouse's face.
While it looks like a regular Ferris wheel, some gondolas swing wildly back and forth along rails – a similar ride has since appeared in places like Gyeongju World in Korea.

If you want to visit both, you should opt for a Park Hopper ticket, which allows you to move between the two parks on the same day.

2. Admission Ticket Prices

Disneyland Resort tickets in LA vary depending on how many parks you plan to visit and for how many days you'll be enjoying them.
Popular Ticket Options:
✅ 1-Day 1-Park Ticket
Allows entry to one park for one day
✅ 1-Day Park Hopper Ticket
Allows entry to both parks for one day, with the ability to switch between them
✅ 2-Day Ticket
Allows entry to one park per day over two days

As of a September weekend, you can expect prices to be around ~$190 for a 1-Day 1-Park ticket,
~$270 for a 1-Day Park Hopper ticket, and ~$307 for a 2-Day ticket.
I personally used a 1-Day Park Hopper ticket, and I highly recommend visiting both parks, as their atmospheres are distinctly different yet equally captivating!

The price of a 1-Day Disneyland Resort ticket in LA varies depending on the popularity of your chosen visit date, meaning dates are tiered and prices increase for more popular days.
Even on weekdays, admission fees can be higher during peak seasons like public holidays or year-end.
If your travel itinerary is flexible, comparing ticket prices for various dates and choosing a relatively cheaper day can help you save a considerable amount on expenses.

3. Park Reservations

For LA Disneyland, some websites require you to **register your ticket and make a park reservation before your visit** after purchasing your ticket.
You'll need to pre-register the ticket number you receive after purchase on the official Disneyland website or app, and make sure to confirm which park you'll be entering for your visit date.

On popular dates, the availability for your desired park reservation can change, so if you're planning a trip to Los Angeles, I **highly recommend purchasing your Disneyland tickets as early as possible**.
After purchasing your tickets, it's also convenient to install the Disney app beforehand, which allows you to check attraction wait times and maps.

4. Fireworks

If you're going to LA Disneyland, you absolutely *must* stay until evening!
As the sun begins to set, lights illuminate everywhere, and the Ferris wheel, various rides, and even Cinderella Castle become far more spectacular than during the day, creating a **completely different atmosphere between day and night.

What many people especially look forward to is the **fireworks show**.
The sight of fireworks soaring around the castle to Disney music is a definite highlight of LA Disneyland.
Fireworks Time
9:30 PM
The fireworks showtime can vary slightly by season, so it's a good idea to double-check the fireworks schedule on the app for your specific visit date.

If you want to get a good view of the fireworks, you should move to Main Street or around the castle a bit early.
Especially at LA Disney, since the castle is relatively small, there's quite a big difference between viewing it from the front versus the back.
Finally, after watching the Disney fireworks, the crowds heading home can be enormous, and ride-share services like Uber become incredibly expensive.
Luckily, I met some fellow Koreans whose accommodation was close to ours, and we shared an Uber, which helped us save on transportation costs.

Disneyland Park has a classic atmosphere with Sleeping Beauty Castle, making it great for those who love characters and parades, or for visiting with children. Disney California Adventure Park is recommended for those who prefer thrilling attractions like Radiator Springs Racers and Incredicoaster.
As of a September weekend, a 1-day 1-park ticket is around ~$190, and a 1-day Park Hopper ticket, which allows access to both parks for the day, is ~$270. Ticket prices may vary depending on the popularity of the visit date.
After purchasing your tickets, you must register the ticket number you received on the official Disneyland website or app in advance. Be sure to confirm that the park you intend to visit on your chosen date has been correctly reserved.
The LA Disneyland fireworks show typically takes place around Sleeping Beauty Castle at 9:30 PM. Times may vary by season, so it's best to check the app. For the best viewing experience, you should move to Main Street or around the castle early. Since the castle is relatively small, viewing from the front is recommended.
