Here's the final installment of my whirlwind 2-night, 3-day adventure in Tsushima!
The place that took care of both my dinner the night before heading back and
my lunch on departure day was
Tsushima Kyubey Dining.
It was the only spot I visited twice during this whole trip!

Evening Visit
Even though I had already eaten quite a bit at the previous restaurant,
it was my last night, and it felt a shame to just head back to my accommodation.
At that moment, the only place still open was
Tsushima Kyubey Dining.
Among all the restaurants I visited in Tsushima,
this one was on the larger side.
They have counter seats, so it's perfect if you're dining or drinking solo,
and with table seats and inner private rooms,
I saw quite a few families with children too.
Google had indicated it was a smoking-friendly restaurant.
But when I visited, I didn't see anyone smoking,
so I emailed them to inquire, and they confirmed it's currently a non-smoking restaurant!
This makes it an ideal spot for anyone looking for a
non-smoking restaurant in Tsushima to visit with kids.
Inside, there's a restroom, which is unisex, and
a separate hand-washing area located just outside the restroom.
Menu
The menu was in Korean.
In Tsushima, most menus are in Korean, and the staff often speak Korean, making ordering super easy.
Since they operate for both lunch and dinner, the menu was quite diverse, ranging from full meals to
appetizers perfect for drinks, and various beverages.
Since I was already quite full, I simply ordered the potato salad and
cucumber with shiokonbu.
The potato salad tasted like your classic potato salad, making it a light and perfect pairing with beer.
I really appreciated that there was no 'otoshi' (small appetizer served automatically in Japanese restaurants),
meaning I could just order light snacks if I wanted to.
Lunch
The next day, the roads were flooded to the point where vehicle traffic was difficult,
and just like the day before, most restaurants were closed again 🥹
After returning our rental car, the restaurant we had planned to visit was unexpectedly closed.
So, we ended up going back to Kyubei Restaurant for lunch!
My boyfriend wasn't feeling particularly hungry, so he opted for curry rice.
Meanwhile, I was craving some spicy Korean food,
so I ordered the Kimchi Pork Stir-fry Set Meal.
The curry rice was pretty standard, nothing too special.
The Kimchi Pork Stir-fry Set Meal, however, wasn't as spicy as traditional Korean Jeyuk Bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork),
but had a delightful sweetness to it.
My boyfriend even said he preferred the Kimchi Pork Stir-fry Set Meal over his curry rice!
After our meal, they kindly gave us food-shaped erasers as a complimentary gift!
We already received one the previous night, so now we have two! 😓
The owner, recognizing us from our two consecutive visits,
greeted us with a friendly wave and even flashed us a V-sign.
To be honest, during this Tsushima trip,
I didn't really get the impression that the staff or people were particularly friendly.
However, at Kyubei Restaurant, both the owner and the staff were incredibly kind,
and the food was delicious, making it the most memorable part of our trip.
Even though it was a backup option because all the other restaurants we planned to visit were closed,
if I ever go to Tsushima again,
this is the only restaurant I would genuinely want to revisit.
The food tasted great, we could dine comfortably, and the staff's kindness made it even more memorable.
If you're looking for a lunch spot in Hitakatsu
or an izakaya for a casual drink,
I definitely recommend checking out Tsushima Kyubei Restaurant!
From Tuesday to Saturday, we are open for lunch from 11:00 to 14:00 and for dinner from 18:00 to 23:00. On Sundays, we are open for lunch only from 11:00 to 14:00. On Mondays, we are open for lunch only from 11:00 to 14:30.
