Ajisen x Keika Ramen at Aso Kumamoto Airport is nestled on the 3rd floor of the Domestic Terminal's departure lobby. It's open from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM, with earlier 8:00 AM openings on weekends for those early flights.

Even if you're flying internationally, you can easily access the domestic area before passing through security. Trust me, you'll want to grab a meal here because the international departure area offers very limited dining options. This is definitely the best choice for your final Japanese feast!

Despite the name "Ajisen x Keika Ramen," it's not a fusion menu. Instead, this fantastic spot offers popular signature dishes from both acclaimed ramen establishments. So, if you didn't get a chance to try Kumamoto's regional ramen in the city, this is your perfect opportunity!

When I visited, they even offered a free "Omori" (large size) noodle portion, so be sure to check if that special is still available!

Ordering is a breeze thanks to the tablet kiosk located on the right side of the menu board. Simply select either "Keika" or "Ajisen" and then choose your desired dish. You won't have any trouble navigating the process!

My Delicious Kumamoto Ramen Experience

Let me tell you all about what I ordered and how it tasted!

I opted for the Baiku Men Omori (large portion) as a set, which came with a small fried rice. To truly celebrate the end of my trip, I also indulged in a Mega size Asahi Super Dry draft beer.

While the beer was labeled "Mega," it was roughly a standard 17-ounce pour. Still, this crisp, refreshing Japanese draft beer was the perfect companion to the rich, flavorful ramen. The fried rice was also quite good—fluffy and savory, though not particularly unique, it made for a satisfying side.

The star of the show, the Baiku Men, featured a rich tonkotsu (pork bone) broth, topped with crunchy cabbage, earthy burdock root, fresh green onions, a perfectly cooked egg, and uniquely, seasoned minced meat. The toppings were certainly distinctive, and as a popular "No. 1" choice, I was eager to try it.

As a ramen enthusiast, I found the broth incredibly satisfying—it was deeply flavorful without being overwhelming, and I couldn't stop slurping it down. The noodles were perfectly cooked, melding beautifully with the broth. Overall, it was a truly delicious bowl of ramen. In hindsight, I might have been even happier ordering two bowls of ramen instead of the fried rice set, just to savor more of that fantastic broth and noodles!
