Booking your KTX tickets is super easy, either through the official 'KorailTalk' app or the Korail website.

Travel Time & Price Guide

The route from Seoul Station to Dongdaegu Station is one of the busiest and most frequently serviced train lines in South Korea.

·Route: Seoul Station ↔ Dongdaegu Station

·Travel Time: Approximately 1 hour 40 minutes ~ 1 hour 50 minutes

(Slight variations depending on the number of stops for each train)

·Fare Price: Standard Class for adults is ~$30

(First Class is approximately ~$42)

Actual KTX047 / KTX214 Ride Review

For my recent journey, I took KTX047 when heading down from Seoul and KTX214 on my return trip.

Seoul Station can be a bit overwhelming with its many platforms, so always double-check the electronic display boards for your specific train number and platform before heading to your gate. Trains usually start boarding about 10-15 minutes prior to departure.

In the corridors between cars, you'll find signs indicating the location of restrooms, vending machines, and phone charging stations. It's a good idea to quickly check these out when you board so you know where everything is.

For travelers, luggage storage is always a top concern.

✔️ Overhead Racks

Carry-on suitcases and backpacks fit comfortably on the overhead racks above your seat.

✔️ Dedicated Luggage Areas

For larger suitcases, you'll need to use the designated storage areas located in the corridors between each car. If you're worried about your belongings, a smart tip is to book a seat near the entrance of your car so you can keep an eye on them!

In Standard Class, while the legroom might feel a bit snug for taller adults, it's perfectly comfortable for the relatively short journey.

However, during winter, bulky coats can make it feel even tighter. I highly recommend using the coat hooks on the wall to hang your outerwear and free up some space!

Insider Tips

If you absolutely need to charge your laptop or smartphone during your trip, you'll want to prioritize securing a seat next to the 'wall space between windows'.

· KTX Standard Class Power Outlet Locations

You'll find power outlets and USB ports on the wall next to even-numbered seats, such as 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14.

When selecting your seat on the booking map, look for the blue sections in the middle of the windows – that's where the power outlets are located!

Taking the KTX means you can travel from Seoul to Daegu in under 2 hours, making a day trip entirely feasible.
