Frankfurt Hotel Location Recommendation
Aim for the city center rather than the Central Station!

When it comes to a European Christmas market trip,
one country you absolutely can't miss is Germany!
Frankfurt, in particular, is a major transportation hub,
and its Römerberg Christmas Market is absolutely stunning.
While Central Station = Good Location is a common recommendation
for accommodation, remember that, conversely,
Good Security = Near the City Center!
Frankfurt Accommodation: Central Station or City Center – Where to Stay?
Frankfurt might have a reputation for being a bit 'boring,'
but it's definitely worth spending at least 1-2 days exploring the city center.
It's also an excellent base for day trips to nearby cities
like Cologne or Nuremberg, thanks to its well-connected transportation system.
That's exactly what I did, staying for 2 nights and exploring both the city and its surroundings.

This particular Central Station is quite infamous in Europe for its less-than-ideal safety,
and honestly, the moment I arrived, the atmosphere and even the smell put me on alert.
So, if you absolutely want to stay near the Central Station,
and don't plan to explore the city center much,
I highly recommend the IntercityHotel, which is very popular among Koreans!
🔎 Find Budget-Friendly Hotels near Frankfurt Central Station

If you're looking to stay in the city center, I absolutely rave about the Kimpton hotel I stayed at!
It might not be the most budget-friendly option, but its value for money (satisfaction-wise) was top-notch!
During the Christmas season, you don't even need to go all the way to Römerberg Square
to find a Christmas market – there's one just a 2-minute walk away,
and the entire area felt incredibly safe.
Römerberg Square is also just a 10-minute walk,
and with many police officers around and the streets being so clean,
I felt quite safe walking even at night!

The Main Tower is visible from the hotel.
Since this is the financial hub, it has a prosperous vibe,
making the streets feel clean and very safe.
This is a 5-star hotel, and based on a Sunday in December during the Christmas market season,
prices range from the mid-to-late ~$180s,
sometimes going up to the mid-to-late ~$250s.
I thought, 'This price isn't bad at all!'
(Of course, prices can be even higher during peak season ^.ㅠ)
Looking now, some of the more affordable rooms during the Christmas market period are
already sold out, so if you're considering it, book fast!
🔎 Check Current Prices for Kimpton Frankfurt
Especially if you're on a European honeymoon to see the Christmas markets?
Then this place is absolutely, wholeheartedly recommended....❤️
An Uber from the Central Station costs less than ~$7,
so it's great to take an Uber for morning and evening commutes.
(It's about a 20-minute walk, so doable, but after trying it once,
I encountered many homeless people even in the morning, so I opted to quickly move on...)
Kimpton Frankfurt Hotel Review
Built in 2024, it's incredibly clean, and I was immediately touched by the kindness of the staff upon arrival!
A staff member opened the door for me, and seeing me taking photos,
even offered to take a picture of me... haha, it was such a delightful experience.

You can also borrow bicycles for free,
and even if you don't add breakfast to your reservation, there are complimentary
drinks and fruits in the lobby for a quick bite in the morning!
I'll share more details about the breakfast review below.

Drinks are also complimentary during happy hour,
so honestly, rather than feeling the accommodation was expensive,
I was just so satisfied with the amazing service!
When traveling in Europe during winter, it gets quite chilly staying outside all day,
so you really need some time to come in and relax.
Enjoying happy hour at just that moment was perfect.
Deluxe Room
Since I was traveling solo as a woman, I booked the most affordable
Deluxe Room for my stay.
They even brought my luggage directly to my room during check-in!

Even though it's a Deluxe Room, the space, measuring 22-26m², was more than enough,
even for my 28-inch suitcase.
There was enough space to fully open two 28-inch suitcases and still
walk around comfortably, the closet was spacious, and the
fluffy slippers and bathrobe were excellent.

The bathroom was also incredibly clean, spacious, and beautiful, with
eye-catching interior design elements. Hot water flowed perfectly, and there were plenty of towels too! 😊

There was complimentary bottled water, wine glasses, and even a paid mini-bar. What I found super convenient was being able to request anything I needed via my
phone on their website.
Since it was winter towards the end of my trip and a bit dry,
I even borrowed a humidifier for free.

The interior itself was totally my style, but what I especially loved was the super cozy bedding.
It was a queen-sized bed, but it felt even more spacious, you know?
And thanks to the crisp feel and freshness of the bedding,
I truly had the most wonderful sleep.
There was a table space for working, and a round side table next to the bed, which made it easy to place my belongings.

There's even a spot in front of the TV console to place your suitcase!
The room had a wonderful variety of lighting, and their harmonious and beautiful arrangement made it a joy to appreciate the design – it's a hotel that still sticks in my memory!
Oh, and even though my room was on a lower floor, there were absolutely no noise issues, thanks to the excellent soundproofing. Plus, the window could open, allowing for fresh air, which was a huge bonus!
Fitness Center

And I'm one of those people who only visits the gym when I stay at such nice accommodations... haha!
The equipment was Technogym and felt brand new, though the gym wasn't particularly large, and I had it all to myself.
Still, they had treadmills and all the essentials!

And they also had water prepared in packets here,
Instead of relying on the complimentary water bottles at the hotel, I opted for this one!
It was just the perfect, convenient size to carry around, making it super handy! 😂
Kimpton Frankfurt Breakfast: A Morning Feast!
Normally, I'm not much of a breakfast person,
but after indulging in German cuisine nonstop,
and hoping to save on lunch by turning it into brunch, I decided to try breakfast one day!

As expected in Europe, there was a delightful array of breads,
and the butter alongside them? Absolutely divine!

With a variety of yogurts and cereals available,
there were plenty of light and easy options perfect for starting the day.

Fruits, an assortment of hams and cheeses, and, of course,
the quintessential German sausages and bacon that are an absolute must-try when you're here!
While the selection wasn't as overwhelmingly diverse as some Korean buffets,
it felt perfectly curated for a hearty, yet manageable, breakfast.

When you're exploring Europe, the cost of lunch can really add up,
so enjoying breakfast like this at least once definitely feels worthwhile!
Booking & Prices: Snagging Your Stay
I managed to book my stay on Agoda for around ~$200-$220.
After comparing various platforms, Agoda consistently seemed to offer the Kimpton
at least tens of dollars cheaper – quite a significant saving!
* Price for a Deluxe Room for 2 people on Sunday, December 6th
👉 Agoda: Around ~$200 (Check Availability)
👉 Trip.com: Around ~$222 (Check Availability)
However, if you have a Trip.com membership tier or have booked flights through them,
they sometimes offer hotel discounts. So, depending on your situation,
it might actually be cheaper for you – definitely worth comparing them side-by-side!

Keep in mind, though, that prices can fluctuate quite a bit depending on your travel dates.
It can range from as low as ~$148 when it's affordable, to around ~$296 when it's pricier.
It's a good idea to keep this in mind when you're making your reservation,
and personally, if I can find it for under ~$259 per night, I would
absolutely, 200% or more, consider revisiting!
