When you travel to Bohol, you'll find yourself venturing out of your accommodation more often than you might expect. With activities like island hopping tours and land tours that start in the morning and bring you back late in the afternoon, it sometimes felt a bit wasteful to book an expensive resort for the entire trip.

So, if you're staying in Bohol for around 4-5 nights, a great option is to split your bookings: for the 2-3 nights with lots of tours, choose a value-for-money accommodation with a great location and reasonable price, and for the remaining 1-2 nights, treat yourself to a resort where you can indulge in a proper hotel vacation, enjoying the pool and other facilities.

Alona by Jpark, where I stayed this time, was perfectly suited for such an itinerary.

Alona Beach Location

What I loved most about Alona by Jpark was, of course, its location! The location was truly unbeatable.

The resort connects directly to Alona Beach, making it super easy to go back and forth from the beach, and it was also great for accessing nearby restaurants, cafes, and spas. Everything was within walking distance! Looking purely at Alona's main area, it was even closer than Henann Resort.

Being able to walk around Alona Beach made evening plans incredibly convenient too.

Especially nice was that the breakfast restaurant and other eateries are situated right in front of Alona Beach, allowing you to enjoy the seaside ambiance while you dine.

If your Bohol free-and-easy itinerary involves spending more time exploring outside than staying indoors all day, this kind of prime location becomes a huge advantage.

Guest Rooms

Deluxe Pool View

Rather than being a grand, opulent large-scale resort, Alona by Jpark leaned more towards a cozy and tidy atmosphere overall.

It's a resort that opened in 2024, so it hasn't been long since it was built. This meant there was hardly any of that worn-out feeling often found in older accommodations, both in the rooms and common areas, which was a huge plus. Overall, it was wonderfully clean!

Personally, when choosing accommodation, especially in places like Bohol, I tend to avoid places that, despite being cheap, are too old or have unsatisfactory room conditions. Alona by Jpark, however, was not only affordable but also boasted clean room conditions, which made me highly satisfied in this regard.

Even for a resort you can snag for under ~$73

during the off-peak season,

the room's condition alone made me feel it was an incredible value!

My room was a fantastic pool-view type,

so stepping out onto our little balcony meant the sparkling pool

was immediately visible!

It was super convenient to hang swimsuits on the chair to dry.

Plus, even with the window open, the pool was right there, inviting us in!

While there was another pool, it lacked any shade,

so we primarily gravitated towards the one we could see

right from our room.

The bathroom was actually pretty spacious,

though I'd recommend bringing your own shower filter for peace of mind.

The Pool

Connected directly to the breakfast restaurant from Bohol's Alona Beach,

the layout was such that if you ventured a bit further inside,

the pool greeted you immediately.

With the pool nestled perfectly between the guest rooms and the restaurant,

it was super convenient for ordering drinks or snacks.

Plus, being so close to our room meant the resort layout was ideal for seamless

relaxation – no complicated routes here!

While the pool wasn't massive or a full-blown water park with tons of facilities,

it was absolutely perfect for a refreshing swim

or simply enjoying some playful splashes.

Throughout my stay, I frequently spotted children who looked like elementary schoolers

having an absolute blast! For families traveling with little ones,

I'd say it'd be tough to find a Bohol resort

offering this level of fantastic value!

Breakfast

Since it's not a 5-star resort, the breakfast selection

might not be vast,

but it still covered the essentials like cereal, fresh pastries,

and fruit – definitely enough for a satisfying start to your day!

It was perfectly fine for a quick and easy bite

before venturing out on our tours.

Considering both the prime location and the comfortable room conditions,

being able to stay at such a fantastic value made

Bohol JPark Alona Resort a truly satisfying experience!
