Jiri Garden Gurye Review 2026: Best Budget Jirisan Stay

Today, I'm wrapping up my mid-April trip to Gurye and Suncheon in Jeollanam-do with the most important part of any trip—where to stay!

While I only stayed for 2 nights,

my parents booked a 7-night stay here.

They spent ages researching to find the absolute perfect spot,

and they definitely hit the jackpot! Here is my honest review of Jiri Garden,

an incredibly clean, budget-friendly gem in Gurye 🤩

📍 175 Hwaeomsa-ro, Masan-myeon, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do

🅿️ Front and rear parking lots (can get a bit crowded on weekends)

💰 Single ~$26, Standard ~$32, Deluxe Double ~$38, Suite ~$45

Jiri Garden is located in Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do,

perfectly situated right between the main downtown area near Guryegu Station

and the historic Hwaeomsa Temple.

If you are driving, the connections are excellent:

Hwaeomsa Temple is just 5 minutes away, Guryegu Station is 11 minutes,

and Namwon Station is about a 30-minute drive.

Location-wise, it doesn't get much better than this 👍

However, keep in mind that immediate convenience stores are a bit scarce,

so it is highly recommended to stock up on snacks and drinks

before heading back to the hotel for the night!

The exterior looks like a standard,

mid-sized countryside hotel or classic Korean motel.

But don't let that fool you—the inside is a whole different story!

The interior renovation is absolutely spectacular.

The lobby welcomes you with a clean, modern,

and minimalist aesthetic.

There is a coffee machine available for guests,

and extra bottled water and basic amenities

are conveniently provided at the front desk

for you to grab on your way up.

One charming touch is the small library in the lobby

where you can borrow books to read during your stay.

Right next to the books, the owner had arranged

some fresh cornelian cherry flower branches (sansuyu) they collected.

It felt so wonderful to experience Gurye's famous spring blooms

right inside the hotel! 🏵️

My parents stayed in a Deluxe Twin on the 6th floor for 7 nights,

while I took a Friday off to join them

and stayed in a Standard room by myself for 2 nights.

Since I stayed in the Standard room, I have way more photos of this one! haha

The Standard Room at Jiri Garden

features a simple, clean setup with one double bed.

It comes with a mini-fridge, electric kettle,

and a long vanity table that doubles as a desk, complete with a TV and mirror.

On top of the fridge, they provided a Philips hairdryer

and a basket of basic amenities.

Toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap—

all the essentials are fully provided!

The bathroom features a bathtub instead of a shower stall.

The water pressure was excellent,

and despite the building being older, there was absolutely no drainage odor! ☆

And can we talk about this view for a second?

Because there are no tall buildings nearby,

you get an unobstructed, peaceful countryside view.

It is the ultimate healing view to clear your mind. 😎

On the day we checked out,

the sky cleared up beautifully after a crazy rainy storm the day before,

making the view even more stunning!

Since the weather wasn't great during the trip,

we ended up spending more time in the hotel than expected.

Having such a comfortable and clean space

made the trip so much better! lol

Here is the room where my parents and grandmother

spent their comfortable week-long stay (7 nights!)—

the Deluxe Twin at Jiri Garden.

This room features one double bed and one single bed.

The bathroom is located right by the entryway.

Compared to the Standard room,

it's much more spacious and features a walk-in shower stall instead of a tub.

The view from my parents' room faced the opposite direction,

offering a majestic view of the Jirisan mountain range in the distance.

Now I see why it's called 'Jiri Garden'! ★

Above all, the pricing is fantastic

and the room conditions are incredibly clean.

It is a much better choice than any other motel or hotel in the area!
