Jeju Air to Osaka: Flight Prices & Review
Kansai International Airport Terminal 2 Guide
Words & Photos by Global Explorer
Are you planning an Osaka getaway
for the upcoming November fall foliage?
Every great trip starts with booking the right flight!
Today, I'll share my recommended budget for Osaka flights
and a detailed review of flying Jeju Air
in and out of Kansai International Airport (KIX) Terminal 2.
💡 Plus, I've included some tips on scoring cheap tickets
down below, so keep reading!
First, let's talk about how much you should expect to pay
and what constitutes a "good deal."

The screenshot above shows flight prices
for Osaka in early 2027.
Even with a weekend included, the cheapest
round-trip ticket is hovering around ~$254.
Osaka is an incredibly popular destination,
so average flight prices tend to be on the higher side.
Occasionally, you'll see flash sales dropping prices to ~$138 to ~$154,
but these ultra-cheap tickets
sell out almost instantly and are tough to grab.
✅ Generally speaking, if you can book a weekday flight for ~$154 to ~$192,
or a weekend trip for around ~$230,
you've secured a pretty solid deal.

Now, let's dive into my Jeju Air flight experience.

I took the 4:45 PM flight on a Friday,
boarding at Gate 8.
This schedule is absolutely perfect for office workers
who just want to take a half-day off and start their weekend getaway.

The aircraft had a standard 3x3 seating configuration,
and to be honest, legroom was quite tight unless you're in the front row.
I couldn't snap a photo of it, but for a 5'11" guy,
the knees are pretty much touching the seat in front.

Flying Jeju Air to Osaka comes with one major quirk
that you need to be aware of.
They land at Kansai International Airport's Terminal 2,
meaning you have to transfer to Terminal 1 to catch the train.

Terminal 2 is an exclusive hub used only by a few
low-cost carriers (LCCs) like Jeju Air and Spring Airlines.
While it keeps airport taxes slightly cheaper than T1,
it comes with the hassle of transferring and
a much smaller duty-free shopping area.

However, because so few airlines use it,
if you manage to get off the plane quickly,
you can breeze through immigration in under 10 minutes!
To get to Terminal 1 from there,
simply follow the signs for the 'to T1' shuttle bus.

The bus only goes to Terminal 1,
so there's zero chance of getting lost.
Once you hop off the bus, head up to the 2nd floor
and cross the connecting bridge to enter Terminal 1.
From here, you can easily catch the Nankai Rapi:t
or local subway trains straight into downtown Osaka!

When it's time to head home, here is how you get
from Terminal 1 back to Terminal 2.

Just retrace your steps: use the 2nd-floor bridge
to walk over to the shuttle bus stop.
Ride the bus to the final stop,
and you'll arrive right at the Terminal 2 departure counters.

I arrived with plenty of time to spare, about two hours
before my flight, and there was absolutely no line.
It took me barely 5 minutes to drop off my checked bag
and breeze through the entire check-in process.

Finally, here is a crucial pro-tip for anyone
departing from Terminal 2.
When boarding is announced, you'll pass through Gate B
and head toward the boarding concourse.
But wait—you don't actually board the plane right away.

You can't see it from the outside, but over a hundred people
are usually packed inside a holding area waiting to board.
It had been a while since I last used KIX T2,
so I completely forgot about this and ended up standing there for over 20 minutes.
It gets incredibly hot in there, especially since there's no AC in the summer,
so I highly recommend taking your time and boarding a bit later.

To sum up my experience flying round-trip
to Osaka with Jeju Air:
'It has its quirks, but the value is unbeatable.'
Yes, arriving at Terminal 2 adds an extra step,
and the duty-free selection is definitely lacking.
However, the flight tickets are significantly cheaper,
and the lightning-fast immigration lines make up for it.

For me, the pros far outweigh the cons,
which is exactly why I find myself booking Jeju Air
almost every time I visit Osaka.
I hope this honest review helps you out,
and happy planning for your next Japanese adventure!
