If you're planning an Italian adventure,

you'll likely find yourself traveling between incredible cities

like Rome, Florence, and Venice.

For my upcoming trip to Italy,

I'll be taking the train from Florence to Venice.

So, for all you first-time Italian train travelers out there, just like me,

I'm excited to share how to book your Italo train tickets!

How to Book Your Italian Train Tickets

First off, Italian trains are generally split into two main companies:

Italo (private) and Trenitalia (state-owned).

Italo often offers fantastic discount coupons, which can make it a more

budget-friendly option than Trenitalia.

That's why I decided to plan my booking with Italo!

When it comes to booking your Italo train tickets,

you've got two main options:

using an authorized agency or going directly through Italo's official website.

First, if you choose an agency like Klook to book your Italian train tickets,

you'll find it incredibly convenient as they often offer services in various languages,

making booking a breeze for everyone.

Plus, it's super simple because you won't need to go through any tedious extra steps

like signing up for membership.

How to Book on Italo's Official Website

Next, I'll walk you through

how to book your train tickets directly on Italo's official website.

First, if you're planning to book on the official website,

I highly recommend registering for an account.

While guest booking is possible,

having an account will make it much easier

if you need to make any changes or cancellations later on!

Click the 'log in' button in the top right corner of the screen,

then click 'SIGN UP NOW'.

Proceed to enter your English first name, last name, email,

confirm email, and password.

Next, you can enter your date of birth and contact information,

though these are not mandatory fields.

Once your registration is complete, you'll see that your customer number has been generated!

Now, click 'login' on the right to sign in.

By the way, I mentioned at the beginning that one of the reasons I chose Italo is because you can often get discounts through promotion codes.

📌 Currently, travelers using the train between 8/7 and 9/16 can apply the ONDA coupon for a 10-20% discount.

Discount information often pops up on the main banner of the official website, so I recommend checking it before making a reservation.

I searched for a route from Florence Santa Maria Novella Station to Venezia Mestre Station.

By the way, to get a discount, simply enter the discount code in the 'promo code' field when searching for train schedules.

If you click on your desired time slot, you'll see that Italo train seat classes are divided into Smart, Prima Business, Club Executive, and more, as shown in the picture above.

Even if you choose Smart, which is the standard class, you won't experience any discomfort during your train journey.

(Think of it like the standard class on KTX in Korea!)

Additionally, depending on the refund and cancellation policies, fares are categorized into eXtra Magic, Low cost, Economy, and Flex.

If your travel plans are fixed, choosing the cheapest eXtra Magic is the best way to save on expenses!

Next, you'll need to enter the passenger information in order: English first name, English last name, email, and confirm email.

If you're a registered member, your information will be auto-filled, but please manually enter the details for your travel companions.

Next, if you wish to add paid options such as lounge access, upgrading to Prima Business, or flexible change/refund policies, you can select them. If not, simply click the 'Continue' button to proceed.
