Hanare Ramen Ishigaki Review 2026: Easy Parking, No Reservations!
Discover Hanare Ramen, a top spot in Ishigaki for delicious ramen. Enjoy unique Mentai Seafood and Garlic Oil flavors, easy parking, and no reservations!

While Ishigaki is renowned for its stunning beaches and incredible marine activities like snorkeling, no trip to Japan is truly complete without indulging in its world-class culinary scene.
On our first day in Ishigaki, right after picking up our rental car and before checking into our accommodation, we headed straight for lunch. Our top pick for that first meal? Hanare Ramen.
This spot isn't too far from the main tourist areas, and crucially, it boasts its own dedicated parking lot, making it super convenient for travelers exploring by rental car. Even better, we arrived without a reservation and were seated immediately!
Below, I've compiled everything you need to know about this fantastic Ishigaki ramen spot, including its location, map, parking details, operating hours, and my personal review of their unique Mentai Seafood Ramen and Garlic Oil Ramen.

While it's not right in the bustling downtown core, the separate parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant make it an ideal choice if you're driving a rental car. For us, picking up our rental at Ishigaki Airport and then heading straight here for lunch before checking into our city hotel made for an incredibly smooth and efficient travel plan.

2. Operating Hours

Operating Hours
✔️ 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
✔️ Closed Tuesdays
Opening at 11 AM makes it a great spot for an early lunch, and staying open until 11 PM means you can easily grab dinner even after a full day of water activities. We visited on a Friday around 1:30 PM without a reservation and were able to walk right in and get seated. There was only one other group dining at the time.
Especially on the first day of travel, flight delays or longer-than-expected rental car pickups can throw off your schedule. Being able to enjoy such high-quality ramen without the stress of a reservation was a huge bonus!
3. Menu Highlights

Hanare Ramen Ishigaki Menu
Hanare Ramen surprised us with a much wider variety of ramen than we expected.
Beyond the classic ramen, garlic oil ramen, and miso ramen, they also offered some intriguing options like a Korean-style cold ramen and a Korean-style soy milk ramen (similar to the chilled Korean dish, Kongguksu).
During our visit, they also had new specials: Mentai (Pollock Roe) Seafood Ramen and Miso Ramen.
In addition to ramen, they serve side dishes like fried rice and gyoza, which are perfect for ordering a few to share if you're dining with a group.
4. Our Dining Experience

On our table, we found a selection of condiments including ginger, soy sauce, vinegar, and chili sauce. Since Ishigaki is part of Okinawa, we also ordered some local Orion Beer to complement our meal.

My choice was the Mentai Seafood Ramen.
1,000 JPY (approx. $7 USD)
When I told my friends I was ordering the Mentai Seafood Ramen, they initially tried to dissuade me, thinking the combination might be a bit odd. I had my own slight reservations, but after the first bite, I knew I'd made the right choice – it was absolutely perfect for my palate!

Despite its name, the Mentai Seafood Ramen doesn't actually have seafood as a topping. Instead, the rich broth is infused with the flavors of mentai (pollock roe) and other seafood, creating a deeply savory base.
The broth had a pleasant, moderate kick that perfectly balanced out the rich, sometimes oily, flavor often found in Japanese ramen. The umami from the seafood was truly pronounced.
The noodles were cooked to perfection – firm enough to maintain a great chewiness right down to the last slurp.

While I enjoy ramen, I'm not usually a fan of the thick, fatty pork chashu found in many tonkotsu ramens. So, I was delighted that this bowl featured relatively thin, leaner slices of meat, which I much preferred.

A marinated soft-boiled egg (Ajitama) isn't a standard inclusion, so we all decided to add one for an extra 160 JPY (approx. $1 USD) each. The yolks were incredibly moist and perfectly seasoned.
However, I found the overall seasoning of the ramen a bit on the salty side for my taste, and the egg was saltier than what I've had at other places. If you're sensitive to salt, I'd definitely recommend asking if they can prepare it with less salt when you order.

My husband ordered the Garlic Oil Ramen.
990 JPY (approx. $7 USD)
To our surprise, the broth of the Garlic Oil Ramen was black when it arrived, which wasn't what we expected! Despite its appearance, the flavor wasn't overwhelmingly strong; instead, it offered a pleasant, subtle garlic aroma that was surprisingly delightful.

Just like the Mentai Seafood Ramen, the noodles had a fantastic texture. However, when comparing the two, I personally preferred the Mentai Seafood Ramen for its richer, more complex broth and deeper umami flavor.

We also ordered Gyoza and Fried Rice to share with our friends at the next table. Both were perfectly decent side dishes to accompany the ramen, though not particularly memorable on their own.
