INNSiDE Liverpool Hotel Review: Best Base for Anfield
Looking for the perfect hotel in Liverpool? Read our review of INNSiDE by Meliá Liverpool, featuring stunning views, great amenities, and tips for Anfield match days.

Hands down, one of the best hotel experiences I have had in the UK: the 4-star INNSiDE by Meliá Liverpool.
While Liverpool has a much more laid-back, compact charm compared to bustling London, we wanted a spot right in the heart of the action with easy access to everything.
📍 INNSiDE by Meliá Liverpool
43 Old Hall St, Liverpool L3 9PP, United Kingdom
Since we were in town for an Anfield stadium tour and to catch a live match, we needed a reliable base. Anfield is about 15 minutes away via ride-sharing apps like Bolt or Uber, or about 50 minutes by public transit.
Pro-tip for match days: Don't rely too heavily on travel times. Taxis are incredibly hard to hail post-match, and buses often divert or drop you off mid-route due to crowd control. Just plan to go with the flow!
Rates & Pricing
Agoda Official Site | Free Cancellation & Special Deals
We booked a 2-night stay through Agoda for about ~$307.
While it is not the cheapest budget stay, the room quality, incredible staff, and overall service were night and day compared to what you get for the same price in London. It was worth every penny!
The Lobby & First Impressions

The entrance is modern and fully accessible, featuring a dedicated wheelchair elevator. They also have a fun photo booth and a stylish photo zone if you want to grab a quick souvenir snap.

Right off the lobby, you will find the main restaurant. The prices are on the higher side, but hotel guests receive a 10% discount coupon, making it a convenient option for a relaxed meal. I will share my honest food review below.
The restaurant details are coming up next!

Our room on the 14th floor was incredibly spacious, clean, and featured a massive king-size bed. The view over the city was absolutely spectacular. The floors were so pristine that we actually felt comfortable walking around barefoot!

The Liverpool night skyline is seriously underrated.

All the essentials were there—kettle, safe, and most importantly, a mini-fridge! If you have traveled around the UK, you know that in-room fridges are surprisingly rare in mid-range hotels, so this was a huge plus.

The bathroom was incredibly generous in size. Even when UK hotel rooms are compact, they always seem to prioritize large, comfortable bathroom spaces.

You can easily cast your phone or iPad to the Smart TV. After a long day of walking, sinking into the plush bed and streaming our favorite shows was absolute heaven.
Dining at the 1st Floor Restaurant

Even on a weekday evening, the restaurant was packed. We had to wait a bit in the cozy lounge area before being seated.

In typical British fashion, the server took our drinks order first. We opted for a crisp glass of white wine and a Diet Coke to start.

Keep in mind that dining out in the UK can get quite expensive, and Liverpool is no exception. The menu prices here reflect that premium city-center dining standard.

Honestly, the pizza and pasta were pretty average. If you prefer loaded, deeply flavorful toppings, you might find them a bit underwhelming. They weren't bad, but they didn't blow us away either.

However, being in the home of fish and chips, the thick-cut chips (fries) were absolutely spectacular—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside!

We took advantage of the 10% guest discount, which helped ease the bill. While I highly recommend the hotel for your stay, I'd suggest exploring other local spots in Liverpool for dinner.
