Hi everyone! I'm Eunsoosoo.
When planning a trip to Chongqing, I’m sure many of you want to make sure you choose the absolute perfect place to stay.
The Jiefangbei (Liberation Monument) area is incredibly bustling, so finding a spot with both a great location and a killer view is actually trickier than it looks.
I was searching for a place with an amazing night view and ended up choosing the IBESHO Hotel near Jiefangbei. Let me share everything from the booking process to my honest review of staying there!

1. Why I Chose This Hotel for My Chongqing Trip

Chongqing is famous for its stunning night views, right?
Located on the 40th floor with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, this hotel lets you take in the city skyline and night lights all at once.
With affordable rooms starting from around ~$19, it felt like an incredible value for money considering this kind of view!

And the most important thing is the transportation and accessibility.
It's only a 3 to 5-minute walk from Jiaochangkou Subway Station, meaning you can walk to all the major hotspots like Hongyadong, Jiefangbei, Bayi Road Food Street, and Shibati (18 Steps).
2. Price & Booking Platform Comparison
When I was looking for accommodations, I noticed that the prices and room availability varied by platform. The price range was quite similar on both Trip.com and Agoda, ranging from around ~$19 to ~$102.
Platform | Price Range | Room Availability |
Trip.com | ~$19 ~ ~$102 | |
Agoda |
However, rates can always change depending on your travel dates, so I highly recommend checking directly for your specific dates.
While the rooms vary in size, they all feature floor-to-ceiling window views. So even if you don't book the most expensive room, a budget-friendly option in the ~$19 range will still keep you more than happy!
3. Amap (Gaode Map) Location (Entrance) & Check-in

📍Gaode Map (Amap)
You don't need to stress about finding a separate hotel entrance. Just look for the building labeled "Xinhua International Building," head inside, and take the elevator straight up to the 40th floor.
It can be a bit confusing for first-timers, so definitely keep this in mind!

Once you arrive on the 40th floor, you’ll find the reception desk. Just show your booking voucher and passport, and they'll get you all set up for your room.

They'll hand you your key card along with an information sheet written in English (complete with the Wi-Fi password!). If you have any requests during your stay, you can easily message them via WeChat.
4. A Look Inside the Room

The room I booked was the highest tier available: the 270° Panoramic Extra-Large Bed Room A.

The massive, wrap-around windows offered an endless view of the city skyline, giving the entire room an incredibly open and airy feel.

The bed was just right—not too firm, with the perfect amount of fluffiness.
I was a little worried about blocking out the light, but drawing the blackout curtains made the room pitch black. Plus, the bright skyscraper lights in the city switch off around 11:00 PM.

You can even lie down in bed and soak in the city views.
Since it's up on the 40th floor, you can actually see the Yangtze River winding between the skyscrapers.

The room also comes with two sofas and a large table.
Since the food alley is just a 3-minute walk away, I didn't even need to order delivery—I just walked down and grabbed street food directly! Having a convenience store right at the base of the building was also super handy.

The power outlets here are fully compatible with Korean plugs, so you don't even need to pack a travel adapter or a power strip.

They provide bathrobes, indoor slippers, and a safe—plus there's even a scale so you can keep track of any holiday weight gain!

The bedroom and bathroom areas are conveniently separated.
There's a toilet, a vanity, a shower booth, a bathtub, and a sink area.

Bottled water, an electric kettle, and instant coffee packets are all provided.
What I loved most was that the mini-fridge was spotless, and they even had wine glasses ready to go!

With double sinks, brushing our teeth and washing up in the morning was incredibly fast and convenient.

Everything from face wash to toothbrushes is provided as amenities, so don't worry if you forgot to pack yours.

The bathtub is an open-concept style—perfect for soaking away your fatigue if you're traveling solo, or setting a romantic anniversary mood if you're traveling as a couple.

The best part is that you can see right outside from the bathtub.
You can enjoy the city views during the day and a gorgeous nightscape after dark.

The shower is right next to the tub, separated by a door. I loved the clean and crisp color palette, too.

The shampoo and body wash amenities smelled great,
and the showerhead was detachable, which is great if you want to use a travel shower filter.

There's a vanity nestled between the shower and the toilet.
The overall color scheme of white and green gives the space a really chic, upscale vibe.

The vanity mirror has built-in LED lighting, making it perfect for detailed makeup application,
and the Panasonic hairdryer had great airflow.

The toilet area is separate and comes equipped with a bidet.
Even though we were on a very high floor, the water pressure for flushing was excellent.
5. Panoramic Daytime City Views and Stunning Nightscapes
I even added some music and edited these clips for you!
Check out this video of the daytime city view from the room. There are buttons to open and close the curtains, or you can just give them a gentle tug and they'll slide automatically!
I also filmed the night city view from the room. Here's a pro-tip: most of the city lights turn off around 11 PM! I shot this on my iPhone, so apologies for the slight quality drop when zooming in and out.
