Chongqing Wulong Tour Guide 2026: Essential Tips Before You Book
Unlock the secrets of Chongqing's Wulong National Park! This guide shares key tips for choosing your Wulong tour, from must-see sights to itinerary planning.

If you're dreaming of a Wulong tour in Chongqing,
you'll likely find yourself comparing a lot of options before hitting that booking button.
There are so many different itineraries and prices can vary quite a bit!
But having booked and experienced it myself,
I realized that instead of just looking at the price tag,
it's far more crucial to consider how much you want to explore and how many adventurers are in your group,
then pick a tour that perfectly aligns with your travel style.
To help you navigate the options and see how I picked my perfect adventure,
I've put together this guide!
I hope it helps you out before you book your own incredible Chongqing Wulong tour :)
Chongqing Wulong Tour Courses

Chongqing Wulong Tour Courses
Three Natural Bridges, Longshuixia Fissure, Fairy Mountain
Typically, you'll discover tours combining the awe-inspiring Three Natural Bridges + Longshuixia Fissure
or the breathtaking Three Natural Bridges + Fairy Mountain.
Some itineraries even include Wujiang Gallery.
Just a heads-up: Wujiang Gallery is usually a quick drive-through experience,
so don't expect to linger there for long!

The incredible Three Natural Bridges is absolutely a must-see!
If you first stumbled upon Wulong tours on social media,
chances are this is the breathtaking spot you saw the most.
And yes, it’s exactly why I had to add it to my itinerary too... it's truly unforgettable!
This is a trekking course where you can immerse yourself in grand nature for about two hours.
While it's a trek, don't confuse it with strenuous mountain climbing!
Seeing it in person is truly an overwhelming, awe-inspiring experience....

Longshuixia Fissure invites you on a breathtaking walk along a majestic gorge carved between towering cliffs.
Here, you'll be treated to spectacular landscapes featuring stunning waterfalls and serene valleys.

Fairy Mountain was the course I personally chose,
and its defining feature is the expansive, rolling grassland scenery.
It truly offers a completely different, refreshing atmosphere compared to the previous two natural wonders!
To reach Wulong from Chongqing city center,
expect the one-way journey alone to take approximately 2-3 hours.
This means you'll typically depart early in the morning
and return to the vibrant city in the evening, after a full day of exploration.

When you first start exploring tour options,
it can be a little daunting to decide what to pair with the magnificent Three Natural Bridges.
Don't worry, I'm here to break it down for you!
If you love the feeling of walking and exploring → Longshuixia Fissure
If you prefer a more leisurely course → Fairy Mountain

Just a little tip: Longshuixia Fissure is home to magnificent waterfalls and serene valleys,
which means as you explore, you might just get a little splashed!
If you prefer to stay completely dry, the Fairy Mountain course might be your perfect match.
(Full disclosure: that's definitely me!)
My chosen adventure combined
Wujiang Gallery + Fairy Mountain + Three Natural Bridges.
I truly believe I made an excellent choice with this itinerary,
as it allowed me to experience three distinct places, each offering a unique and captivating atmosphere!

And oh, especially the adorable alpacas I met at Fairy Mountain....
Snapping some amazing photos with them (for an additional cost)
was a definite highlight that made me feel so glad I chose this itinerary!
If your goal is to pack as much wonder into a single day as possible,
then I wholeheartedly recommend this particular itinerary! :)

Group Tour? Small Group Tour?

On Klook or Trip.com, you can also find group tours.
While the price is lower,
you'll be traveling with many people,
which can lead to longer waiting times during transfers.
On the other hand, a small-group tour of about 8 people
might be a bit pricier,
but it usually includes hotel pickup and offers more flexible travel.
The travel time to Wulong is quite long, so
traveling comfortably is super important!!
That's why I opted for a small-group tour myself.
It was for a maximum of 8 people,
and there were 2 people from Hong Kong and the 3 of us, making a total of 5.
With fewer people, it was pretty quiet and
we could travel comfortably.
If you're on a family trip and prefer to travel only with your group,
a private tour could also be a great option to consider.

By the way, Wulong tours are typically with a Chinese driver,
and you'll communicate via WeChat messages.
Since WeChat has a translation feature,
you really don't need to worry too much about communication.
Things to Definitely Check Before Booking!

First things first, you need to decide what kind of places you want to visit,
and pick your itinerary.
If you're looking for an adventure in grand nature like waterfalls and valleys, I recommend Longshui Gorge.
If you love open landscapes with vast meadows, Fairy Mountain is the way to go.
Next, choose your tour type.
If you want to save as much as possible, go for a group tour.
If you prefer comfortable travel, a small-group tour is your best bet.
Once you've decided, when checking tour packages,
make sure to check these points:
✔️ Pickup/Meeting Location
✔️ On-site Additional Costs
✔️ Price

Small-group tours usually include hotel pickup.
There are often on-site additional costs, but
the essentials are typically limited to the train ride within the scenic area and lunch.
You can consider everything else optional.

If you look up Wulong tours now,
group tours are typically around ~$44,
while small-group tours range from ~$58 to ~$73.
Prices also vary depending on the itinerary.
The Fairy Mountain course is usually a bit more affordable.
Additionally, prices can vary significantly depending on the date and platform,
so it's definitely worth comparing.
If you find comparing everything tiresome or don't have the time,
you can check out the tour I personally took
after going through all that research myself—

It would be such a missed opportunity not to do a Wulong tour during your Chongqing trip!

I highly recommend you go!
