During my Chongqing trip, I went to see a grand acrobatic show themed around the Yangtze River, and since it focuses on acrobatics and hologram effects without dialogue, I could enjoy it without any language barriers.

3. My Actual Viewing Experience (Yellow Zone)

Yangtze River tickets can be exchanged starting one hour before the show. I quickly finished dinner and arrived around 6:40 PM, heading towards the ticket office, which was about a 5-minute walk from the entrance.

However, one ticket gave me a bit of trouble.

I initially booked through KKday, but the QR code couldn't be issued correctly at the on-site ticket office. I only managed to enter after a double-check against the reservation list, which took about 20 minutes.

The local ticket office in China didn't seem very familiar with KKday itself; it appears there might have been a difference in local platform recognition.

In contrast, all my bookings made through Trip.com during this Chongqing trip went through without any issues. If I were to book another trip to China, I'd probably check Trip.com first.

Inside the building, there was also a separate concession stand selling drinks and snacks.

I was seated in the yellow zone of Section B. It wasn't packed, but there were a lot of international visitors overall, with locals gradually filling about 30% of the seats later on.

As soon as the lights dimmed and the first scene began, I could feel the entire theater fall silent. It was amazing how the story unfolded purely through atmosphere, without a single line of dialogue.

The holographic backdrop appeared three-dimensional, just like a real set, making it feel like I was truly inside that space, not just watching a flat video.

Some sections were tranquil and lyrical, then the next section would transition to a completely different, magnificent stage with a new concept, making the transition itself a spectacle.

The music also distinctly changed the atmosphere with each scene, making it feel like I was following the story with my ears as much as with my eyes.

In scenes where the circular stage transformed from a river surface to a riverbed, and then into a construction site, I couldn't take my eyes off the stage, wondering how it would change next.

The aerial wire acts were far more breathtaking in person than in photos. Perhaps because the yellow zone was quite close to the stage, I could even notice the performers' breathing and subtle changes in their expressions.

The photos and videos included here are just a tiny glimpse of the performance, and in reality, there were far more diverse scenes and spectacles. This is also why I highly recommend going to see it for yourself.

It felt less like an acrobatic circus performance and more like watching a full-fledged show with a narrative, making the production far richer than I had expected.

4. My On-Site Interview Experience

To share my interview experience, an interview team approached me as I was leaving after the performance. They asked, using a translator, if I was open to an interview in Korean, and I happily agreed.

Before the interview, they explained what questions would be asked. They told me I could comfortably answer two questions in Korean: how I came to Chongqing and what I thought of the performance.

I briefly introduced myself, shared the reason for my trip to Chongqing and how incredibly moving and enjoyable the performance was, and concluded by saying I'd recommend it to everyone back home in Korea.

It was a short interview, but I never expected to have such an experience during my trip, so I think it will stay with me for a long time.
