Are you planning a quick weekend getaway to
Hitakatsu in Tsushima?
For a short, one-night trip, choosing the right accommodation
is definitely a key factor.
Today, I'm thrilled to introduce you to a fantastic hotel I stayed at
during my one-night trip to Hitakatsu:
Tsushima Hotel Hitakatsu – a place that truly excels in both location and value for money!
First, let me show you on the map what kind of place
Tsushima's Hitakatsu really is.
As you can see on the map above, Hitakatsu is a charmingly small,
rural town – what you see on the map is pretty much the entire downtown area!
Hitakatsu Port is at its heart, and you could easily explore
the entire town on foot in about 30 minutes.
Also, if you look at the marked spots from when I traveled,
you'll notice that most of the restaurants are clustered
to the left of Hitakatsu Port.
So, if you're booking accommodation, staying near Hitakatsu Port
is definitely the most convenient option for your travels.

The Hitakatsu accommodation I'd love to recommend is
Tsushima Hotel Hitakatsu, conveniently located right in front of Hitakatsu Port.
Each room can accommodate 1 to 3 people, and the accommodation fee
varies depending on the number of guests.
What's more, you have two delightful room types to choose from:
a Japanese-style room that exudes local charm, and a Standard Room offering lovely ocean views,
so you can pick the one that best suits your taste!

For a weekend stay for two, the accommodation fee is quite affordable,
starting from the early ~$69 range.
Also, after comparing various booking sites,
I found Agoda offered really good prices.
I recommend checking out the price comparison table and booking links
to get the best value for your reservation.
❗️A quick tip: Hotels in Tsushima, especially on weekends, can be quite limited.
So, once you've booked your ferry, I highly recommend securing your accommodation in advance!
Now, let me share some of the fantastic advantages of this hotel.
First off, it boasts a prime location close to Hitakatsu's town center,
and right next door, you'll find the Konpira Ebisu Shrine.
This shrine is one of Hitakatsu's few charming tourist spots,
and since it's right next door, it's perfect for a leisurely stroll!
And it's not far from various restaurants, cafes,
or even Value Mart in the city.
So, if you're the kind of traveler who loves to explore on foot,
this hotel will be incredibly convenient for your adventures!
Plus, for those of us who prefer to get around on foot,
renting an electric bicycle is often a great option.
Good news! This hotel also offers electric bicycle rentals for a fee,
making it super easy to explore the nearby areas too!
(Just a heads-up: they're quite popular, so I highly recommend
renting one as soon as you arrive.)
I initially wanted to book a standard room with an ocean view,
but since I booked so late,
I ended up staying in the last available Traditional Room.
Now, let me share my experience from that stay!
The hotel lobby is conveniently located on the 2nd floor,
easily accessible by elevator.
The front desk staff member at the time was Japanese,
but they were able to communicate important details about our stay in Korean.
The lobby offered some handy amenities like vending machines, a microwave,
and even wooden chopsticks.
Since there aren't many suitable restaurants around Hitakatsu late at night,
it was absolutely perfect to buy food in advance from Value Mart
and enjoy it as a late-night snack at the hotel.
And you can store your luggage both before check-in and after check-out,
so you can leave your bags worry-free,
whether you have an early morning or late afternoon ferry.
After a simple check-in process, we headed to
our assigned room, 327.
Information regarding hotel usage is also clearly written
in Korean in the in-room guide.
One important thing to remember is that the hotel entrance is locked
from 10 PM to 6 AM, so always make sure to carry your room key
when you go out.
The Traditional Tatami Room I stayed in
was a cozy, compact room with futons and mats provided inside.
While there's no Western-style bed, that means you get plenty of spacious floor area!
And since the hotel rooms are generally set up for three people,
three futons and mats were provided.
For those of you traveling as a pair, like us,
if you layer the mats thickly on the floor,
you'll hardly notice a difference from a traditional bed mattress!
While all the Western-style rooms with beds offer an ocean view,
the Traditional Rooms boast a charming mountain view from the back.
Personally, I found this view pretty good too.
For reference, the view on the right is the stunning Hitakatsu Port ocean view you'd get from a standard room, so keep that in mind!
Next, the bathroom was designed with a compact layout, featuring a toilet, bathtub, and sink.
While not overly spacious, the presence of a bathtub meant I could unwind with a relaxing half-body bath in the evenings.
For walk-focused travelers like myself, if you opt for an electric bicycle, you'll find your legs can get surprisingly tired.
So, being able to soothe those tired muscles was definitely a big plus!
Plus, since it's a room designed for three, we were happily provided with three bath towels and three hand towels.
Today, I've shared my experience at Tsushima Hotel Hitakatsu, the place I chose for my trip to Tsushima's Hitakatsu.
If you're traveling to Tsushima with a very specific purpose, perhaps a local guesthouse or another hotel might suit your needs. But for casual tourists or independent explorers looking for pure convenience, you won't find a hotel with a better location and easier access for exploring!
What's more, there aren't as many hotels in Hitakatsu town center as you might expect, so rooms often sell out well in advance, especially on weekends.
❗️If you've already booked your ferry tickets, I strongly recommend securing your hotel reservation as soon as possible.
