Hotel Ambit is housed in a nearly 150-year-old building that's been beautifully remodeled. From the moment you step into the lobby, you're enveloped in that distinct Southern European ambiance!

Despite its historic facade, the recent renovation means modern amenities, like the sleek, new elevators.

The staff mentioned they've been hosting a diverse clientele lately. I thought this was my little secret gem, but it seems word has spread quickly among savvy travelers!

1. Unbeatable Value

Finding a hotel of this quality in Barcelona for around ~$146 USD a night is a rare find. It was a beacon of light for me, as I had initially budgeted for ~$219 USD per night!

2. Unbeatable Location

Nestled in the heart of Eixample, the area feels safe, and you can easily walk to Plaça de Catalunya, La Boqueria Market, and Passeig de Gràcia. It's truly ideal for independent travelers!

3. Exceptional Service

During European travels, it's not uncommon to encounter unfriendly staff, even in nice hotels, which can be a real mood killer. But the team here was incredibly kind and cheerful (and fluent in English)!

This hotel's location alone makes it worth booking, especially if you love exploring on foot!

Even the popular restaurant **Vinitus, famous for its honey cod**, is just a **15-minute walk** away. Being right in the **city center**, you'll find a hundred and one restaurants and tapas bars to choose from!

When I travel in Europe, I'm the kind of person who loves to walk 15-20 minutes to explore. During my stay at Hotel Ambit, I **barely used public transport or taxis** to get around the city – it was that convenient!

4. Balcony Comfort Room Review

Comfort Rooms are divided into **City View, Balcony, and Terrace options**. I opted for a Balcony room.

Since I was staying for more than 3 days, I wanted a balcony or terrace to feel less cramped, and I was so pleased with my choice!

Tip! It seemed the Terrace rooms faced a school. While Balcony rooms are smaller, they seemed quieter in the mornings, which was a plus for me.

Inside the room, you'll find everything you need: a King-sized or larger bed, a mini-desk, a closet, a safe, and even an iron! You also get **two complimentary bottles of water on the first day**.

The bathroom features a separate sink, shower, and toilet area, and the water pressure was excellent.

The room isn't huge, but since our itinerary kept us out late every evening, I didn't feel any inconvenience during our stay.

The **only drawback** was that when I came back to change clothes during the day, it could get a bit noisy outside. There's a school behind the building, so there was some daytime noise. It might be challenging to relax in the room during the day. ㅠㅠ

Tip! I didn't opt for breakfast, but it's served buffet-style daily from **7 AM to 11 AM**, and you can add it for approximately **14 Euros per person (roughly ~$15 USD)**. (Keep an eye out for breakfast-inclusive packages when booking your room!)

How Does It Compare to Nearby Hotels?

Before booking, I was torn between **H10 Metropolitan** and Hotel Ambit.

Both are in Eixample, right near Plaça de Catalunya, so their locations are undeniably excellent. However, the **price difference was over ~$73 USD per night**.

H10 Metropolitan offered a small pool and welcome service, which made me think, 'It's our honeymoon, maybe we should splurge?' But after calculating our travel budget, it was just too expensive. So, I ultimately chose the value-for-money Hotel Ambit.

The verdict? I'm so glad I went with the ~$146 USD option!

I didn't experience any discomfort during my stay, and I figured I saved ~$73 USD per day, which meant more budget for delicious food and experiences!
