Hoi An Silk Sense River Resort Review: 5-Star Stay & Breakfast
Hoi An's Old Town is famous, but for a 5-star relaxing retreat, Silk Sense River Resort is a top pick. Perfect for families or couples seeking peace near Da Nang.

Recommended 5-Star Resort in the ~$64 Range (Including Breakfast!)

When you search for places to stay in Hoi An,
most people will recommend hotels right next to the Ancient Town.
I spent ages debating right up to the last minute between La Siesta and Almanity—both popular choices near the Ancient Town—
but in the end, I booked the 5-star Hoi An Silk Sense River Resort & Spa for around the ~$70 range per night, breakfast included.
And honestly? It turned out to be the absolute best decision of my entire trip.

After actually staying there, I’d say this resort is a massive hit for:
✔️ Couples looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway
✔️ Families traveling with kids
✔️ Anyone planning a special trip to treat their parents
✔️ Travelers who value pure relaxation over packed sightseeing schedules
It’s the kind of resort where everyone leaves fully satisfied.

When looking at hotels near Hoi An's Ancient Town,
I heavily considered 5-star options like Almanity and La Siesta.
Both are close to the Ancient Town, meaning great accessibility.
But I wanted a quiet, healing vibe. And ultimately...
✔️ Google Rating of 4.8/5 for a 5-star resort
✔️ Unbelievable value in the ~$64 range per night, breakfast included
✔️ Private beach access in addition to a gorgeous pool
These three reasons won me over completely.

I've done a quick price comparison for the Superior Garden View room! As availability drops, prices naturally go up, so I highly recommend locking in your booking early!
And since rates change depending on your travel dates,
it’s always best to compare prices before you book.

(I made two round trips to Old Town using both the shuttle and taxis. Getting around was much easier than I expected, so the distance didn't bother me at all!)

⭐️ Here is a super useful tip for getting around!
Many spas in Da Nang and Hoi An offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off services when you book. If you're planning on getting a massage, I highly recommend checking if they include this service!
Here are two highly-rated spas loved by travelers! You'll want to message them directly to ask about their pick-up and drop-off options.

The moment I stepped into the lobby,
the peaceful, signature resort atmosphere
and warm wood-toned interiors caught my eye first.
Rather than being overly flashy, it had a rich, traditional Vietnamese vibe,
making it feel like the perfect space to unwind and truly relax,
with a beautifully eco-friendly touch.

When you arrive in the lobby for check-in, they serve you
a welcome tea, dried crackers, and a refreshing cold towel on a bamboo tray.

Upon entering the room, a lovely platter of welcome fruit was waiting for us,
and when we returned after going out in the evening,
our bed had been beautifully turned down and tidied up,
with sweet little chocolates left on the pillow.

On the balcony right next to our room, I discovered
an easel with drawing paper set up.
It made me realize that this resort is all about thoughtful details and unexpected moments of romance.

Thanks to the warm wood interiors and rattan accents, you get that classic Southeast Asian resort vibe,
and the room was incredibly spacious with a generous bed size,
making it incredibly comfortable for two people.
The AC worked perfectly too, keeping everything wonderfully cool and dry without any humidity.

The bathroom featured double round sinks, with the shower and toilet conveniently separated,
making the whole layout so much more comfortable to use! 👍

They have all the cozy little essentials ready for you! 👍
With umbrellas, robes, a safe, and an iron, you could seriously just move in here...⭐️

We had breakfast at the resort's restaurant in the morning.
I honestly couldn't believe a one-night stay plus breakfast for two was only around ~$70.
Along with a wide variety of standard dishes and desserts,
they even served signature Vietnamese favorites like Bánh Xèo and Pho,
and you could really feel the care and effort put into them.

Check out the photo above for the room service menu!~

The pool had such a great vibe, surrounded by palm trees and cozy cabanas. While it was on the smaller side, it was relatively uncrowded, so we could enjoy a quiet, relaxing swim.

One of my personal favorite perks was the bicycle rental.
A breezy pedal down the path takes you straight to the resort's private beach. Since the beach is so massive, the upkeep was a little lacking, but the ride from the resort to the shore was pure healing.
With almost no one else around, riding along with the wind in my face felt like stepping right into a scene from a movie.

In addition, there is a Happy Hour from 4 PM to 6 PM,
as well as various activity programs that we didn't get to try, so it'd be wonderful to take your time and enjoy them!

Looking at the photos, I was quite worried about bugs since it’s such an eco-friendly resort, but I didn't see a single bug inside the room. Honestly, I don't think I even saw any outdoors either.
The room even had an information card about house geckos that help catch pests, and maybe thanks to them, we barely saw any bugs during our stay.
Actually, we didn't even run into a single gecko! I was secretly hoping to spot one, so I was a little bummed..😂
Based on the Superior Garden View room, I compared prices across some of the most popular booking platforms! The fewer rooms left, the higher the price goes, so I highly recommend booking early!
Also, rates can vary depending on your travel dates,
so I recommend comparing them before you book.

Silk Sense River Resort isn't a flashy or massive, mega-scale resort. However, the friendliness of the staff, the nature-immersed atmosphere, the peaceful rooms, the free shuttle, the various activity programs, and the highly satisfying breakfast—it has it all!
It was a resort that perfectly matched the goal of a "purely relaxing getaway."

La Siesta Resort (Agoda) | Almanity Resort (Agoda) |
On the flip side, it is a bit far from the Old Town, so if your itinerary involves sightseeing until late at night, it might be slightly inconvenient.

But if you're looking for peaceful relaxation and spending quality time at the resort like I was, Silk Sense River Resort is a much better choice. For me, its distance from the busy Old Town actually felt like a plus.
I also spent a lot of time debating between La Siesta and Almanity right up until booking, but after actually staying here, I have absolutely no regrets about my choice.
If "rest" is more important to your trip than packed sightseeing, I would definitely book Silk Sense River Resort again next time.
