Are you dreaming of a quick, rejuvenating escape to the charming island of Tsushima?
When it comes to a truly relaxing getaway, the location of your accommodation is absolutely key. It can make or break your trip!
Today, we're thrilled to introduce you to a fantastic budget-friendly gem in Hitakatsu: the 'Hitakatsu Hotel Tsushima'!

Hitakatsu Hotel Tsushima |
Check-in: 4:00 PM ~ 9:00 PM Check-out: 10:00 AM Accommodation Fee: ~$55-62 per night (varies by day) |
📍 Hitakatsu Hotel Tsushima boasts an unbeatable location, just a short 3-minute walk from Hitakatsu Port. This means you can easily drop off your luggage upon arrival and pick it up before departure, making your travel day a breeze!
Plus, the hotel is situated right in the heart of Hitakatsu's downtown area, with easy access to Value Mart and a variety of local restaurants. It's truly a prime spot for exploring the town.
✅ On top of that, with rates typically ranging from ~$55-62 per night, it offers excellent value for your money.
You have two room types to choose from: a traditional Japanese-style tatami room or a comfortable Western-style bed room. The bed rooms even offer lovely ocean views!
❗️ However, due to their popularity, the bed rooms tend to sell out quickly. Don't wait too long to book if you have a preference!
You can find more detailed information about the hotel below.

Let's take a look at how to get to the hotel and what the lobby looks like.

The hotel actually has two entrances. You can take the elevator up from the first floor of the building, which is visible directly from the port, or you can walk up the sloping path as shown in the photos.
We initially took the sloped path because we couldn't find the elevator entrance, but if you're carrying a lot of luggage, we definitely recommend using the elevator for convenience!

The hotel lobby felt remarkably clean, almost as if it had been recently renovated. The floors and walls exuded a sophisticated feel, and the warm brown tones created a very calming atmosphere.
A handy tip: you can store your luggage at the hotel before check-in and after check-out, allowing you to start your exploration of Tsushima right away!

The hotel also offers electric bicycle rentals.
❗️ For those traveling without a car, we highly recommend reserving a bike right after dropping off your luggage. On weekends, these bikes are incredibly popular and can sell out quickly if you're not fast!
As a hotel guest, you receive a ~$3 discount, bringing the daily rental fee to just ~$12 per day.

After checking in, you can pick up one amenity item per person from the counter.
While the staff primarily speaks Japanese, they are prepared to provide hotel-related explanations in Korean, so there's no need to worry about language barriers during your stay.

As we rode the elevator up to the 3rd-floor lobby, we were already treated to glimpses of Tsushima's beautiful scenery.
I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to have an ocean view room!
Since we booked a bit late, all the Western-style bed rooms were sold out, so we ended up with the last available tatami room.

Even so, the room had a lovely Japanese ambiance, and without a bulky bed, the space felt quite expansive.
The rooms are generally set up for three people, so even though there were two of us, we were provided with three sets of bedding.

As you can see in the photos, there's still plenty of room even when the bedding is laid out horizontally. A small, low table is also provided, perfect for enjoying snacks and drinks from the local Value Mart in the evening.
Most of us are used to sleeping in beds, so sleeping on the floor might feel a bit uncomfortable at first. Here's a little tip: try stacking two of the mats on top of each other. It makes for a much more comfortable sleep and prevents any backaches!

While there isn't a dedicated closet, three wall-mounted hangers are provided for your clothes. Additionally, you'll find all the basic amenities you need, including a mini-fridge, hairdryer, and coffee maker.

The bathroom, typical of a business hotel, is small and compact. While there's nothing particularly extraordinary about it, a big plus is the inclusion of a bathtub, perfect for soaking away the day's fatigue in the evening.
If you rent a bicycle and spend the day exploring, your thighs might feel surprisingly sore. Drawing a hot bath for a relaxing soak can truly be pure bliss!

Hitakatsu Hotel Tsushima truly impressed us with both its excellent location and affordable pricing. We'd give it a 100% recommendation for a return visit if we travel to Tsushima again!
Our tatami room offered a wonderful taste of traditional Japanese culture, and the opportunity to stroll along the waterfront near the hotel each morning and evening provided ample relaxation, even on our short trip.
The only minor regret was that our tatami room didn't have an ocean view. While the Western-style bed rooms are about 10% pricier, they offer picturesque port views like the one in the photo, which would likely enhance your overall satisfaction.
❗️ To avoid missing out on your preferred room type, especially if you have your travel dates set, we strongly advise booking as early as possible.
You can book your stay at the hotel using the link below. We hope this information helps you choose the perfect room for your preferences!
