The Diamond King Hotel is situated just north of Hoan Kiem Lake, an easy 10-minute walk (about 0.5 miles) away. This lively district is a magnet for travelers from all corners of the globe, thanks to its proximity to popular spots like Ta Hien Beer Street and the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre.

One minor downside is that being in such a bustling area means a constant flow of cars and motorbikes. While you can certainly bring your luggage, the narrow and sometimes uneven streets require a bit of caution.

A huge plus, however, is the sheer abundance of places to explore right on your doorstep. Traditional eateries, cafes famous for their unique egg coffee, and vibrant night markets are all within comfortable walking distance.

For a solo traveler, the room size was absolutely perfect. There was ample space to open my suitcase, and the bed could comfortably accommodate two people. The photos might look a bit dark since I checked in late at night, but the lighting was perfectly fine.

The bedding was well-maintained, and the room was thoughtfully equipped with a sofa and a small table, making it a comfortable spot to relax. Best of all, finding a room of this quality near Hoan Kiem Lake for around ~$25 is truly a steal!

However, I opted not to use the mystery liquid (?) by the sink. I suspect it might have been hand soap, but I wasn't taking any chances, haha!

For my first night in Hanoi, I was just looking for the cheapest place to crash, and I was genuinely surprised by how good the condition was! If I had known, I would have stayed here for a few more nights. My next accommodation choice, sadly, led to a bit of trouble!
