A Dreamy Spain Honeymoon
H10 Metropolitan Barcelona: Terrace Double Room Review

When planning our honeymoon accommodation, we had a clear goal. Instead of saving a few bucks on a standard room, we wanted to splurge slightly on a space that would leave a lasting impression.
That’s why we skipped the basic options and booked the Terrace Double Room—complete with a private balcony overlooking the historic Barcelona City Hall Theater!
Spoiler alert: The H10 Metropolitan Hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations and became one of the highlights of our romantic getaway in 2026.
1. Unbeatable Location in the Heart of Barcelona

If there’s one thing that makes this hotel a 10/10, it’s the unbeatable location. Situated right near Plaça de Catalunya, it makes sightseeing, shopping, and dining incredibly convenient. We highly recommend it, especially if it’s your first time visiting Barcelona!

Being right in the center of the action allowed us to save our energy during the busy first few days of our honeymoon. Plus, the area is well-lit and bustling with people even late at night, meaning we felt completely safe and secure walking back without worrying about pickpockets.
2. Our Room Type: The Terrace Double Room

We stayed in the gorgeous Terrace Double Room, which quickly became our private sanctuary. Here’s why we loved it:
✔ A private terrace perfect for enjoying a slow morning coffee or light brunch.
✔ A direct view of the beautiful City Hall Theater right across the street.
✔ A romantic, open atmosphere right in the middle of the city.
While European city hotel rooms can sometimes feel cozy, the terrace opened up the space beautifully, making it feel much more spacious and luxurious than a standard double room.

3. The Magical Terrace View

The absolute highlight of this room was, without a doubt, the terrace view. Every morning, we’d throw open the balcony doors, lie in bed, and just listen to the gentle morning hum of Barcelona waking up.
In the evenings, it became the ultimate romantic spot. We loved standing out on the balcony with a glass of Spanish red wine, watching the illuminated City Hall Theater across the street. It truly felt like a movie scene and is a memory we will cherish forever.
4. Room Condition & Comfort

In terms of size, the room was quite standard for a prime city-center hotel in Europe. It wasn't massive, but it was incredibly well-designed with modern finishes.

Since we were close to the lively Las Ramblas area, we were slightly worried about street noise. However, the soundproofing was excellent, and we slept like babies every single night.
5. Bathroom & Amenities

The bathroom was clean, modern, and sleek. While it didn't have over-the-top luxury resort vibes, it was spotless, functional, and fully equipped with high-quality amenities. Cleanliness is always my top priority, and H10 Metropolitan nailed it.
6. Breakfast & Common Spaces

We opted to explore local cafes for breakfast, but the hotel's buffet is highly rated for its fresh, quality selection. Another hidden gem is the rooftop pool & terrace. Though small, it’s a peaceful oasis where you can escape the city heat and relax for an hour or two.
7. Who is this hotel perfect for?

✔ Couples on a Barcelona honeymoon
✔ Travelers seeking a city-center location with a romantic vibe
✔ Anyone wanting to balance busy sightseeing with relaxing hotel downtime
✔ Those planning to watch a Flamenco Show at City Hall (Highly Recommended!)
You absolutely cannot visit Spain without experiencing Flamenco. And when the historic City Hall Theater is literally right across the street from your lobby? Booking a show is an absolute must! It was so convenient to walk over, enjoy the passionate performance, and be back in our room within five minutes.
