Grand Canyon 2-Day Tour from Las Vegas: My 2026 Review

When planning a Grand Canyon trip,

the place many people choose as their base camp is

none other than, 🇺🇸 Las Vegas.

I looked into a Grand Canyon self-guided trip,

but with over 8 hours of pure driving, separate ticket bookings,

and needing to communicate in English with locals, among other things,

it was simply too much to coordinate.

So, I opted for a 1-night, 2-day tour for around ~$207.

After comparing several companies,

I chose the Grand Canyon 1-Night, 2-Day LV Comfortable Tour, departing from Las Vegas, in early September.

I've included the price and itinerary – often the biggest considerations before booking –

along with the honest pros and one con I wouldn't recommend.

Grand Canyon Tours Departing from Las Vegas

Since Las Vegas is the closest major city to the Grand Canyon,

there are many Grand Canyon tours departing from Las Vegas.

(Approximately 4 hours one-way)

I went on the LV Tour's Comfortable Tour.

Honestly, my husband booked it, so I wasn't too familiar with it when we went.

But after returning, I found out it had the most reviews,

and a five-star rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

I booked through MyRealTrip, but

for those of you who've traveled a bit,

I noticed many people use ZoomZoom Tour in the U.S. too.

So, I compared the prices.

It's the same tour, just sold by different vendors.

For those who already use ZoomZoom Tour,

MyRealTrip might seem cheaper right now, but

if you apply the welcome coupon, ZoomZoom Tour becomes

more than ~$3 cheaper.

(The prices for MyRealTrip vs. ZoomZoom Tour can fluctuate depending on discount events,

so make sure to compare them both!)

Beyond just the Grand Canyon,

this tour also takes you to Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Horseshoe Bend,

Antelope Canyon, and the Grand Canyon South Rim / East Rim.

It's a tour that lets you see several canyons together,

starting from the less 'awe-inspiring' (?) canyons

and gradually moving to more magnificent and visually stunning locations,

making the entire 1-night, 2-day trip full of wonders 🫢.

The LV Tour's overnight accommodation was also located within the Grand Canyon area,

which made for an efficient itinerary without unnecessary travel.

In August and September, the days are long and the weather is hot,

so we depart after hotel pickup between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM.

Hotels on the Las Vegas Main Strip are fine.

The pickup structure starts near the airport (south side)

and picks up guests as it heads north.

I stayed at the Trump Hotel in the north,

so I couldn't get a very good seat on the tour bus 😂

Oh, it says you'll arrive back in Las Vegas around 6 PM

after the tour ends.

I did the tour on a weekend,

and the traffic was so heavy that I arrived after 7 PM

and just crashed... lol

Even if you book a show or a flight,

it's best to allow plenty of time!

The last show at Sphere is at 8 PM.

August & September Grand Canyon Weather & Packing Essentials

The Grand Canyon is a desert.

So, naturally, when you think of August and September, the weather can seem daunting.

But then again, looking at the annual weather patterns, it actually looks pretty good.

I actually went from September 2nd to 3rd.

The nights were dry and cool like a summer evening,

but the days were dry and very hot.

Felt temperature around 40℃

You know how iPhones tell you to cool them down when they get too hot?

I saw a lot of people with iPhones getting warnings

that the temperature was too high, haha.

It's not humid and hot like in Korea,

but rather hot like a dry sauna, so

☀️ **A hat and a parasol** are incredibly helpful.

☀️ **Light long pants and sunglasses** are recommended.

☀️ **A portable charger** is a must - there's just so much to photograph!

While we had free time to explore each canyon,

it was so hot that sometimes we'd cut our free time short

and head back to the vehicle.

The car always had cool air conditioning running,

so it was great to be able to just see the famous spots

and come right back to rest if it got too hot or tiring.

Did you know that cars in the US don't have window tinting...?

If I had gone on a self-drive trip with a rental car...

it would've taken forever to cool down that boiling car...

My Honest Review: Satisfaction with the LV 'Comfortable' Tour?

I chose the villa accommodation,

and the bedding was fresh and fluffy, and the bed was comfortable.

Plus, the bathroom was attached to the room!

The tour itinerary, accommodation condition, guide,

and even the views were all satisfying, but

the only thing I found a bit disappointing was the **tour vehicle**.

There are two types of LV Grand Canyon 1-night, 2-day tours,

and the difference lies in the vehicle.

• 'Comfortable' Tour: Narrow vehicle

• 'Most Comfortable' Tour: Spacious vehicle

Actually, what I originally booked was the **LV 'Most Comfortable' Tour**, you see?

But because the minimum number of participants (5 people) wasn't met,

they asked if I wanted to switch to the 'Comfortable' Tour for the same date,

so I ended up changing, sigh.

(Of course, I received a refund for the price difference)

But honestly, the car felt a bit cramped.

The ceiling height inside the car was good, so there was plenty of headroom,

but my legs were bent, which wasn't comfortable...

Considering we had to ride for over 8 hours round trip,

and each of us had a backpack,

I definitely thought it would have been better if the car was more spacious.

For a budget-friendly trip,

the Comfortable Tour was great, but!

if you're traveling with parents, or want a bit more comfort

to enjoy the tour, choosing the Most Comfortable Tour

will be much more comfortable for both your mind and body.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What about luggage? Can I bring it on the tour bus, or can I leave it at the hotel?

The tour bus has limited space,

so each person can only bring one backpack ㅠ

But there's this intimidating (?) story going around

that Las Vegas hotels don't store luggage.

So, my spouse and I did this:

✔️ Stayed at the Trump Hotel the night before the tour

✔️ Stayed at the Trump Hotel again on the day we returned from the tour!

When we checked in the day before the tour, we asked them upfront.

"We're going on a Grand Canyon tour and will be returning,

and we'll be staying at the Trump Hotel again upon our return.

Could you store our luggage for us?"

After checking our passports and accommodation reservation details,

they comfortably stored our luggage for us, haha.

Q2. Which day of the week is best to go?

Grand Canyon weekend accommodation prices are no joke.

There's a more than double difference between hotel prices for check-ins from Sunday to Thursday

and for check-ins on Saturday.

Therefore, I recommend booking the Grand Canyon tour

for a Saturday-Sunday 1-night, 2-day trip.

Since the LV Grand Canyon tour prices are the same on weekdays and weekends,

considering Las Vegas accommodation on weekends,

it feels even more budget-friendly!

Q3. Comfortable Tour vs. Most Comfortable Tour

While the Most Comfortable Tour is over ~$69 more expensive, if you consider travel fatigue and your next schedule after the trip, I'd choose the Most Comfortable Tour. Even for someone in their mid-30s, being cramped for 8 hours round trip was a bit tough.

Although circumstances led me to take the Comfortable Tour, if I were to go again, or go with my parents, I would choose the Most Comfortable Tour.
