It's called Astra Lumina, a night walk experience. Initially, I thought, 'Isn't it just a zoo with lights turned on at night?' I didn't have high expectations, but I was completely blown away!
It felt like stepping into a set from 'Stranger Things'—truly bizarre and wonderful!
This is no ordinary light festival; it was created by Moment Factory, a world-renowned multimedia studio, so the storytelling is absolutely incredible.
The concept is a journey of fallen stars resting in Earth's forest before returning to the sky!
The trail spans about 0.9 miles (1.5 km) through the forest, featuring nine cosmic-themed zones, and takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete.
It operates every Wednesday through Saturday, from 6 PM to 9 PM, making it a perfect evening activity!
Walking through the dark forest at night, with dynamic lighting, majestic soundscapes, and artificial fog effects, creates an immersive experience that feels like you've stepped right into the movie Avatar.
While it might still be a bit of a hidden gem for some international tourists, it's already a hot spot among locals and other foreign visitors. So, if you're planning a Gold Coast trip, I highly recommend adding this to your itinerary!
It genuinely feels like stepping into a magical realm, and the harmony of music and lighting is simply breathtaking.
It was such a fun and unique experience in Gold Coast, where nighttime activities can sometimes be limited!
Most of the path is flat, making it easy to walk, and it's fantastic for taking beautiful photos.
Although the trail is well-maintained, it is an outdoor forest path, so I recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. It's also accessible for strollers and wheelchairs, making it perfect for families!
Since it's held within Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, I even got to see some sleeping koalas.
They're just as adorable at night, aren't they?
