The 13th annual Gokseong International Rose Festival kicked off on May 20th at Seomjingang Train Village, themed 'The Rose Ball: The Red.' This iconic spring festival showcases over 1,004 varieties of roses from around the globe. You'll find detailed event and parking information at the end of this post.

I actually had the chance to visit last week for a group trip, just before the official opening of the festival.

This is the old Gokseong Station, which serves as the entrance to Seomjingang Train Village. Its preserved historical appearance makes the station itself a fantastic photo zone.

The Gokseong International Rose Festival features over a thousand varieties of roses. I honestly had no idea there were so many different types and colors of roses! Shall we take a stroll and admire them together?

This is a lovely pink rose named 'Juliane,' and it was as beautiful as its name. Though I visited last week, before the full bloom, there were still plenty of roses open to enjoy.

It was amazing to see how different all the roses were in color and shape, blooming under the warm sun.

Honestly, I have hundreds more rose photos! There are just too many to share in one go, so I'll introduce more in a separate post. When I visited, the weather was unusually hot, with daytime temperatures reaching up to 93°F (34°C). Since the festival offers extended evening hours until 10 PM, visiting later in the evening to avoid the intense sun could be a wonderful option.
