Craving an authentic taste of Korea? Discover Yangpyeong Shinnae Seoul Haejangguk near Gimpo's Unyang Station, renowned for its rich flavors and generous takeout portions. A must-try!

Prepare to be amazed: this spot serves some of the best Haejangguk in all of Korea!
In Gimpo's Haejangguk scene, it's truly the top of the top!!!
There was a time I used to drive all the way to a 24-hour Cheorwon Yangpyeong Haejangguk near Ilsan Lake Park for my fix.
But now, making the journey to Gimpo for this Haejangguk is entirely justified.
Yangpyeong Shinnae Seoul Haejangguk in Unyang-dong, Gimpo, is a place I crave and visit at least once a year without fail.
When I go, I always make sure to devour a piping hot bowl of Haejangguk on the spot, and then grab a takeout order to bring home – that's the real way to do it! The takeout portions are incredibly generous; a single serving can easily feed a whole family!

Even the flashy sign catches your eye from the street: Yangpyeong Shinnae Seoul Haejangguk Gimpo Unyang Branch.

It's a bit of a drive from Unyang Station, so I always go by car.

Even on weekdays, the parking lot is packed, and on weekends, it's even busier.
They have a huge parking lot out front, but it's always full, so they even guide cars to park on the shoulder – that's how popular this place is!

The menu is refreshingly simple:
Haejangguk, Haenaetang, and rice. That's it!
Haejangguk: ~$8
Haenaetang: ~$10
Steamed Rice: ~$1
Extra Meat: $0!
If you ask for extra meat when ordering, they'll give you even more than the already generous portion. You can also get free refills on blood sausage (seonji) and broth!
Soju/Beer: ~$3
Makgeolli (rice wine): ~$3
Looking back at old blog posts, Haejangguk was around ~$7 and Haenaetang ~$9 in 2022. While prices have increased since then, the taste is still worth every penny!

As someone who appreciates good food, I always check the origin of ingredients, especially for kimchi. It makes a difference in the taste!
The kimchi is all domestically sourced, though the chili powder is mixed. Regardless, the cubed radish kimchi (kkakdugi) is absolutely delicious!

The delicious-looking kimchi and kkakdugi.
I even went back for a second helping of kkakdugi!

Soy sauce, chili oil, gochujang paste (dadaegi), pepper, and more condiments are available.

A generous amount of spicy chili paste (dadaegi).

This is the Haenaetang, packed with various beef offal.

For me, it's always Haejangguk!
Why? Because I absolutely love the tripe and omasum (yang and cheonyeop). Those wonderfully chewy, textured bits are my favorite, so I always choose Haejangguk over Haenaetang here!

Kimchi and my Haejangguk. The portion is truly massive! I feel full even without rice, and when I get it to go, it easily lasts for 3-4 meals at home.

I was so full I even left half of the blood sausage, but I made sure to pick out and savor all my beloved tripe and drink every drop of that rich broth!

In that generous bowl of Haejangguk, there's only this tiny amount of bean sprouts. You know those other places where they pack in so many bean sprouts you wonder if it's really Haejangguk or just bean sprout soup? Not here!

The interior isn't huge, but it's always bustling. And there are so many customers getting takeout that people are constantly coming and going.

A quick shot on my way out. Of course, I didn't leave empty-handed – one Haejangguk to go, please!

I really wish the Yangpyeong Shinnae Seoul Haejangguk restaurants in Seoul would learn from this branch!

Just look at the stack of takeout bags on the left! They grab one for each order.

Additionally, nearby are the #YakgokTouristHotel and #YakgokHongyeomcheon Hot Spring. So, after you've savored a hearty bowl of Haejangguk, why not head to the hot springs? Or, if you've just enjoyed a relaxing soak, come grab a comforting bowl of soup!
That hot spring is quite famous for its distinctive reddish water.
I have old photos somewhere; I'll share them soon!
Yangpyeong Sinnae Seoul Haejangguk Gimpo Unyang Branch operates from Tuesday to Sunday, from 7 AM to 8 PM. Last orders are taken at 8 PM. Takeout is available until 9 PM, and the restaurant is regularly closed every Monday.
Haejangguk is ~$8, and Haenaetang is ~$10. If you request 'more meat' when ordering, you can receive extra meat without additional charge. Blood sausage (seonji) and broth refills are also available.
When you get Haejangguk for takeout, the portion is said to be very generous, enough for the whole family to share even if you buy a single serving. It's specifically mentioned that a takeout order can provide enough for 3-4 meals.
The restaurant is a bit far from Unyang Station, so it's best to travel by car. Although there's a spacious parking lot in front of the restaurant, it can get crowded with many visitors on both weekdays and weekends, to the point where you might be directed to park on the roadside.
