Hey there, fellow adventurers!👋 I'm **Joo**, your go-to travel blogger.

Initially, I only planned to visit the suspension bridge. But once I arrived, I discovered a spacious valley near the Unaksan entrance and the stunning Baeknyeon Waterfall along the path to the bridge. It turned out to be an ideal summer destination!
Gapyeong Summer Trip: Valleys & Suspension Bridge

📍 Unaksan Suspension Bridge
34 Hyeondeungsa-gil, Jojong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do
The Unaksan Suspension Bridge course I explored in Gapyeong is a relatively short trek, taking about 30 minutes on average to reach the bridge itself.

I took my time, relaxing at the valley near the entrance and taking breaks at Baeknyeon Waterfall along the way, so my visit stretched to about **2 hours** in total.
Rather than just aiming for the suspension bridge, think of this as a summer itinerary in Gapyeong where you can **dip your feet in the cool valley waters and soak in the beautiful scenery** as you go.
🚗 Parking at Unaksan Entrance 🚗

📍 Unaksan Public Parking Lot
7-48 Sinbaragi-maeul Parking Lot, Hyeondeungsa-gil, Jojong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do
Before heading to the Unaksan Suspension Bridge, you'll need to park at the Unaksan Public Parking Lot, which is **paid**. Please note that only cash or bank transfers are accepted, so plan accordingly!
Eco-friendly cars, Light cars | ~$1 |
Small cars | ~$1 |
Large cars | ~$3 |
🌊 A Spacious Valley Awaits at the Entrance! 🌊

📍 Unaksan Visitor Center
551 Unakcheonggye-ro, Jojong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do
After parking, head towards the Unaksan entrance. You'll find a wide, flat valley below the visitor center – perfect for a refreshing dip!
Even if you didn't bring your swimming gear, you can easily purchase water play essentials at the visitor center or nearby convenience stores. I took a quick break there, and the cool water was absolutely delightful.
👣 The Path to Unaksan Suspension Bridge 👣

Once you're refreshed, it's time to start your trek!👣 The path is a gentle uphill slope, not steep stairs, making it easy to ascend at your own pace.
This course is suitable for a wide range of ages, from teenagers to those in their fifties, making it a great family-friendly option. It takes about 20 minutes to climb, but there's no spring water source, so remember to bring your own water bottle!
🌊 A Quick Break at Baeknyeon Waterfall 🌊

📍 Baeknyeon Waterfall
Unak-ri, Jojong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do
As you continue your ascent, you'll reach the refreshing Baeknyeon Waterfall. Since it's located right on the hiking trail, it's usually less crowded, offering a clear, pristine valley perfect for a private family break.

I just dipped my feet in for a moment, and it was incredibly cool and invigorating!
🌉 Arriving at the Suspension Bridge 🌉

From here, you have a choice: **stairs or the hiking trail**. I opted for the stairs.
Just 418 steps up, and you'll reach the suspension bridge!

📍 Unaksan Suspension Bridge
34 Hyeondeungsa-gil, Jojong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do
With no obstructions, the open views from the bridge were a little thrilling, but the cool breeze and stunning scenery made it a perfect spot for a truly healing travel experience.

That's all for Joo's travel diary today!
Tomorrow, I'll be sharing a **delicious Dakgalbi restaurant** located near Unaksan in Gapyeong.
The Unaksan public parking lot operates on a paid basis. Environmentally friendly vehicles and compact cars are charged ~$1, small cars ~$1, and large cars ~$3. Parking fees can only be paid in cash or via bank transfer.
It's a short trekking course of about 30 minutes to reach the suspension bridge. If you take your time to explore, resting at the entrance valley and Baeknyeon Falls, you can spend a total of about 2 hours there.
There is no natural spring on the way to the suspension bridge, so it's recommended to bring your own water. After passing Baeknyeon Falls, just before the suspension bridge, you can choose to take either 418 stairs or a hiking trail.
After parking, if you come to the entrance of Unaksan, there is a wide valley below the tourist information center where you can enjoy playing in the water. Midway up the path to the suspension bridge, you'll find Baeknyeon Falls, where you can take a cool break.
