Pro Tip: Bus on Weekdays, Train on Weekends
As its name suggests, Fuji-Q Highland, one of Tokyo's most exhilarating amusement parks, is located near Mount Fuji itself.
While it's a bit of a journey from central Tokyo, you have two great options to get there: bus or train.
For a smoother trip, I recommend taking the bus on weekdays or during off-peak seasons. If you're visiting on a weekend or during a busy holiday, the train is usually your best bet.

2. Fuji-Q Highland Ticket Prices & Tips
Score Better Deals by Booking a Package!
If you only purchase a One-Day Pass for Fuji-Q Highland, it will cost approximately ~$43 per adult.
However, Fuji-Q offers various packages, allowing you to save money by bundling your tickets.
Currently, with the ongoing Butterbear collaboration event (as of 2026), the Butterbear Pass is an incredible value, even including meal coupons! If you're visiting Fuji-Q Highland, this pass offers the best bang for your buck.

3. Fuji-Q Highland Ride Reviews
These "Scream Machines" Live Up to Their Name!
Fuji-Q Highland, this incredible Tokyo amusement park, carries "Fuji" in its name for a reason: on a clear day, you can catch breathtaking views of Mount Fuji itself!
(Confession: This was my second visit, and I still haven't managed to see Fuji-san. 🥲)
On the flip side, if the weather isn't perfect, you might find fewer crowds, meaning virtually no wait times for the rides! 👍
One slight disappointment was the strict rule against wearing accessories on rides, which meant no recording ride videos. But after experiencing the rides, I totally understood why! 😅

Takabisha
The Roller Coaster Holding a Guinness World Record for its 121-Degree Drop
Takabisha is one of Fuji-Q's "Big 3 Scream Machines," famous for its incredible 121-degree drop, making it one of the steepest roller coasters in the world!
What's more, it's a launch coaster, a truly next-level experience for anyone who enjoys high-speed thrills. If you're a roller coaster enthusiast, Takabisha is an absolute must-ride at Fuji-Q!
Eejanaika
A Wild Coaster That Will Leave You Breathless From the First Drop
Eejanaika is another one of Fuji-Q's legendary "Big 3 Scream Machines."
While waiting in line, I kept hearing "Eejanaika! Eejanaika!" and wondered what it meant. Turns out, it's a phrase that roughly translates to "Who cares?!" or "It'll be fine!" – a fitting sentiment for this insane ride!
This was the last ride I tackled, and from the moment of the first drop, it gave absolutely no time to catch your breath. It's so wild, you even have to take off your shoes before boarding! 🙀
Eejanaika truly knocks the wind out of you, making you want to shout "Who cares?!" right along with the ride's name! 🤣
Personally, this was the scariest ride among the "Big 3 Scream Machines."
Fujiyama
A Roller Coaster That Showcases the Majesty of Mount Fuji
Fujiyama is a classic-style roller coaster, but its impressive stats – a maximum height of 259 feet, a top speed of 81 miles per hour, and a ride time of approximately 3 minutes and 30 seconds – solidify its place among the "Big 3 Scream Machines."
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to ride it during my visit due to a safety inspection.
However, I actually think Fujiyama is best experienced on a clear day anyway. I've heard that the panoramic views of Mount Fuji as you ascend are truly spectacular, making it an excellent ride for scenery lovers.
JoKon
A Roller Coaster That Delivers a Mario Kart-Style Boost!
JoKon was a new addition I hadn't seen on my previous visit. I heard it was built to fill the void left by Dodonpa, another thrilling coaster.
As one of the park's newest roller coasters, JoKon features a "booster" technology reminiscent of Mario Kart, along with unexpected twists and turns. It's definitely a ride I highly recommend trying!
While JoKon might not be classified among the "Big 3 Scream Machines," in terms of pure fun and intricate maneuvers, I actually found it more entertaining than some of the top thrill rides.
Fuji Airways
A Visually Stunning 4D Attraction
This attraction is similar to Lotte World's Fly Venture, offering an immersive 4D experience. Primarily, you'll "fly" over Mount Fuji. However, during specific times, you can experience an "Attack on Titan" themed ride, simulating the feeling of using the omni-directional mobility gear!
With its "Attack on Titan" spin-off vibe, offering both excitement and a compelling story, this is an absolute must-ride for any fan of the series!
Naruto Village, Thomas Land
Experience Your Favorite Characters Through Fuji-Q's Collaborations
Fuji-Q Highland, this thrilling Tokyo amusement park, features dedicated areas like Naruto Village and Thomas Land.
Many Naruto fans visit specifically to explore Naruto Village, while Thomas Land is packed with rides perfect for younger children and families.
Naruto Village includes a shooting game attraction, a museum-like experience, and a Naruto souvenir shop. If you're a fan of the series, this area is definitely worth checking out!
On a side note, I had really hoped to ride Dodonpa, but unfortunately, it has since been retired.
Despite that, I still managed to ride almost all of the "Big 3 Scream Machines" on this visit, with the exception of Fujiyama. If you're a fan of heart-pounding thrills, I highly recommend visiting Fuji-Q Highland over Disneyland for your next Tokyo adventure!
