2. Siena: A UNESCO-Listed Medieval Gem

Our first stop was Siena, a city that feels like it's frozen in time, perfectly preserving its medieval charm. We enjoyed a concise yet comprehensive walking tour covering key landmarks like Piazza del Campo, the Palazzo Pubblico (Town Hall), and the magnificent Siena Cathedral. We even had dedicated time for photos in front of the cathedral – our guide was fantastic at suggesting poses, which definitely made for less awkward pictures!

We had ample free time to explore, so my husband and I wandered around, snapping photos (or rather, I directed him on how to take them!). We also reminisced about seeing Piazza del Campo on TV shows, soaking in the atmosphere.

Notably, between Siena and our next destination, we made a quick stop at an iconic cypress tree-lined road – a quintessential Tuscan photo spot. You simply can't say you've truly experienced Tuscany without a picture here!
3. Winery Tour and Strolling the City of Towers, San Gimignano

Next, we arrived at a charming Chianti region winery. It was summer, so the grapevines weren't at their most lush, but it was still fascinating to see them. We were treated to a tasting of traditionally made wines, accompanied by a brief, informative explanation of the winemaking process.

We tasted several wines, including a white, and enjoyed a delicious lunch provided at the winery. The food was excellent – Italy truly seems to excel everywhere! It was a pleasant surprise to have such high-quality food included in the tour, feeling more like a local dining experience than a typical tourist meal.

San Gimignano, the 'City of Towers,' truly felt like stepping into a medieval movie set. After a brief introduction, everyone grabbed a famous gelato from a local shop and enjoyed some free time. The town isn't huge, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll, browsing the various souvenir and artisan shops.

The shops in San Gimignano were particularly delightful. It was so much fun to explore, and I found it especially interesting to discover places selling grape-based perfumes and other unique local products.
4. Final Thoughts
