Isn't it just magical how they've placed this charming carousel right in the heart of the piazza? It's absolutely breathtaking, day or night. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius!
On a side note, how are your travel photos turning out? Sometimes it feels like we take 50 amazing shots of our travel companions for every one great shot of ourselves. It's a skill that definitely needs practice!
But back to the carousel, it's truly enchanting at night.
The piazza is surrounded by bustling cafes and restaurants, always lively with people.
We even took some professional photos here. It can feel a little self-conscious with so many people around, but push past it for a moment, and you'll capture some incredible lifelong memories.

You simply can't talk about Florence without mentioning its magnificent Duomo.
The stunning combination of white, green, and pink marble is truly a work of art. It's incredibly beautiful, even in photos.
Since entry to the cathedral's interior is free, it's worth stepping inside to experience its grandeur. Just be sure to check the relatively short admission hours.
You can climb either Giotto's Bell Tower or Brunelleschi's Dome for panoramic views of Florence. I personally opted for Brunelleschi's Dome.

From the top, you'll be treated to a breathtaking vista of Florence's iconic red rooftops. If you ask me about the experience, I'd say it was incredibly rewarding, but also a seriously tough climb!
Thinking of climbing both Giotto's Bell Tower and Brunelleschi's Dome? I wouldn't recommend doing both in one day; it's quite challenging!
This is where you'll find the replica of Michelangelo's David. Even though it's a copy, everyone stops here for a photo!
The impressive building you see in the photos is the Palazzo Vecchio, once the palace of the powerful Medici family.
And for fashion lovers, the famous Gucci Garden is also nearby.

Another unmissable spot on your Florence journey is the Ponte Vecchio. This incredible medieval arched bridge dates all the way back to Roman times.
The bridge itself is lined with a fascinating array of jewelry and souvenir shops.
The entrance to Ponte Vecchio is usually bustling with people. We even heard some fantastic busking performances on the bridge, which added to the magical atmosphere.
While walking across it is charming, the best photos of Ponte Vecchio are often taken from a neighboring bridge or from the riverbanks leading up to it.
Even a quick snap with your phone captures the beautiful scenery.
It's also a prime spot for professional photos!
And the night view? Simply serene and stunning.
For the absolute best panoramic views of Florence, especially at sunset, head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo.

As the golden hour begins, the city transforms into an absolutely breathtaking spectacle.
As you can see in the photos, there are steps where everyone gathers to sit and enjoy the view. From this vantage point, you get a slightly angled, yet utterly magnificent, panorama of the entire Florence cityscape.
Isn't this church just adorable? I visited the square in front of it as part of a Tuscany tour, and I was really taken by how charming both the church and the piazza are.
Many say the inner courtyard, accessible with an admission ticket, is particularly beautiful, so it might be worth exploring inside as well.
Admission to the interior of Florence Cathedral is free from 10:15 AM to 3:45 PM. Please note that it is closed on Sundays.
Tickets for Brunelleschi's Dome require advance reservation, and the climb can be quite strenuous. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid climbing both Giotto's Bell Tower and Brunelleschi's Dome on the same day, as it can be dangerous.
Piazza della Signoria features a replica of the David statue, and Palazzo Vecchio, the Medici family's palace, is also nearby. Gucci Garden is also located at Piazza della Signoria 10.
