Grindelwald Accommodation: Booking & Prices
MyRealTrip / Agoda

When comparing MyRealTrip and Agoda for the exact same dates,
MyRealTrip was ~$446
while Agoda came in at ~$408!
Agoda had an 11% discount room available,
but they sell out fast, so book as early as possible!

1. Why We Chose This Lodge

The Eiger View Alpine Lodge
was a hidden gem I found after hours of deep-dive research.
Because I was booking 3-4 months in advance,
most of the budget-friendly, aesthetic spots were already sold out...

I was hunting for a room that met these strict criteria:
✅ Budget-friendly pricing
✅ Aesthetically pleasing interior
✅ Direct views of the Eiger mountain

When I booked, it wasn't even listed on Agoda yet because
it was a brand-new property.
The only reviews I could find were a few scattered posts on travel forums!
Haha!
I literally had to piece together the layout and size in my head
based on a few blurry user photos.
After mentally simulating the space, I decided to take the plunge.

The verdict?
⭐️ Absolutely, 100% satisfied! ⭐️

2. Location & How to Get There

To reach the Eiger View Alpine Lodge:
👉 Take Bus 122 from Grindelwald Station,
get off at the Gaggi Sage stop, and it's just a
1-minute walk from there! *.*

During check-in, they'll show you the local bus schedule—
make sure to snap a photo of it!
* Pro tip: Before boarding, show the bus driver your stop name
to confirm they're heading there. I did this on my first ride just to be safe!
📍 Eiger View Alpine Lodge
Sonnenbergweg 20, 3818 Grindelwald, Switzerland

The exterior has that quintessential Swiss chalet charm.
Prices might have bumped up slightly for 2026, but
when I booked, it was ~$385 for 2 nights (for 2 people).
Considering Grindelwald's notoriously high accommodation prices, this was a steal!

And the absolute best part? The view right in front of the lodge...
It's insane.

We planned to just drop our bags and head straight to Grindelwald First,
but the views from the lodge and the path leading down were so breathtaking
that we spent way too much time taking photos
and totally blew our schedule!
Haha!
3. Room & Amenities Review

The first thing that thrilled me upon entering:
👉 There is an elevator!
Honestly, dragging heavy luggage up stairs in the Alps is a nightmare, so this was a huge win.
The Eiger View Alpine Lodge has three main standout features:
✔️ A stunning central lobby
✔️ Shared bathrooms (shared between just two rooms)
✔️ A fully equipped shared kitchen

Wondering what makes the central lobby so special?
The Central Lobby

Isn't it gorgeous?
I was absolutely in love with this space.
So dreamy!

As soon as you step out of the elevator,
you're greeted by this incredible window view in the lobby.
The sight of the tiny Swiss chalets against the massive Eiger backdrop is unmatched.

The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, and the landscape outside
looks literally like a painting!
Inside the Room

Our room was tucked away down the hallway connected to the lobby.

I read online that rooms were assigned on a first-come, first-served basis,
so I asked the staff upon arrival
if we could snag a room with a terrace.
Unfortunately, all rooms were already assigned and couldn't be changed. Bummer, but okay...

While missing out on the terrace was a slight letdown,
the lush, green forest view from our window was still beautiful! Haha.
Plus, the central lobby was so fantastic that even without a private terrace,
we were incredibly happy throughout our entire stay.

⚠️ If you specifically want a terrace room,
I highly recommend emailing them right after you book!
We booked the ✔️ Standard Double Room / Mountain View,
but it turns out the "mountain" wasn't the Eiger...
Lesson learned! Haha.

4. Shared Bathroom & Kitchen Facilities
The Shared Bathroom

Even though it's a shared bathroom,
it's not shared with the whole floor—
it's only shared between two rooms!
We never even bumped into our neighbors,
so it honestly felt like a private ensuite.
Zero inconvenience at all.

Fresh towels aren't provided daily,
so we alternated between the provided towels and
a few travel towels we brought ourselves.
✔️ There are hangers available, so if you hang them up in the morning,
→ they dry out perfectly for the next day.
That's how we managed!
The Shared Kitchen

The shared kitchen is located downstairs,
and the views here are just as mind-blowing.

How can a shared kitchen have a view like this?
The space is incredibly clean and spacious,
and it's fully stocked with cookware and utensils.
However, there are no chopsticks,
✅ so if you plan on eating noodles, definitely pack some! *,*

Since dining out in Switzerland is notoriously expensive,
my sister and I hit up the local Coop supermarket after hiking.
We bought pizza, ramen, and fresh fruit to eat at the lodge!
There's an oven, making it super easy to ✔️ heat up pizzas
or even ✔️ buy some meat to roast for dinner. *.*

Sitting by the window with that view while eating dinner...
it really hit me that I was actually in Switzerland, yet it still felt surreal!
Haha!

A perfect blend of private comfort and communal convenience:
The Eiger View Alpine Lodge in Grindelwald.

The location is fantastic because it's not too deep into the mountains
that it requires a long bus ride!
Plus, if you need groceries, it's just a quick 10-minute walk down
to the local Coop supermarket. *.*

After all the research and hesitation before booking,
I couldn't be happier with our stay at the Eiger View Alpine Lodge.
Whether you're looking for a romantic honeymoon spot
or a practical base for a family trip, I highly recommend it!
