If the metro is running and your hotel is located right next to a station, taking the metro is highly recommended. However, if you land outside of operating hours or your hotel is far from the nearest stop, booking an airport pickup or hopping in a taxi is your best bet.

Let’s break down the best transit options based on your flight arrival time and destination.

1. Arriving in Dubai Late at Night: Can You Catch the Metro?

Most international travelers arrive via major carriers like Emirates or other global airlines. Emirates flights land at Terminal 3, while most other international airlines arrive at Terminal 1. Fortunately, both terminals are seamlessly connected to the Dubai Metro.

I arrived on an early morning flight landing around 4:30 AM. I initially worried that only taxis would be running, but after clearing customs and grabbing my bags, the timing lined up perfectly with the first metro train of the day.

You can hail a standard airport taxi, use ride-hailing apps like Uber or Careem, or pre-book a private airport transfer online.

Pre-booking a private airport transfer is the most stress-free way to go. Most services include 60 to 90 minutes of free waiting time, so you don't have to stress if your flight is slightly delayed.
