Think Dubai in summer is too hot? Think again! As a former resident, I'll reveal why off-season travel offers unbeatable deals on flights and luxury hotels in 2026.
Is a summer trip to Dubai a good idea?
Let me be honest, from the perspective of someone who's lived there.
I lived in Dubai.
At first, I also thought summer in Dubai was unbearable,
but...

Once I actually lived there, I found summer to be even better!
My older sister even came to visit me in Dubai
during the height of summer!
Today, I'll break down exactly 5 reasons why a summer trip to Dubai is a great idea!

① Flight prices are unbelievably cheap!
Compared to Dubai's winter peak season...
In summer, air ticket prices are almost half off!!
Even direct flights with Emirates and Etihad Airways
during the off-season, round-trip fares can drop to around ~$414 - ~$552.

In winter, the same airline and the same route
can easily exceed ~$690,
isn't this difference alone a good enough reason to go in summer? Haha!

② 5-Star Hotels at Realistic Prices
Dubai is such a luxurious city,
that hotel prices are astronomical during peak season.
But during the summer off-season...
even brand hotels like Atlantis The Palm and Jumeirah
see their prices drop with off-season special rates!!

So when my sister visited,
we stayed a night at Atlantis The Palm hotel
and used the waterpark and aquarium for free!!
Waterpark access included with hotel booking!

③ No queues at the waterpark!
Waterparks... too many people, right?
You have to go early in the morning,
and fight for spots, but
summer at Dubai's Atlantis Aquaventure is heaven!!
You barely wait for popular slides~
There are significantly fewer people,
and you can just float along the lazy river
without bumping into anyone, simply enjoying the leisure!
Plus, the water is pleasantly lukewarm, which is a bonus!
You don't get cold!!
You can play longer!!!
Even I, someone who usually dislikes water, spent the most time playing in the water
when I went to Atlantis Waterpark in the summer!!
This is truly the proper way to enjoy a waterpark!!

④ Malls are heaven!
In summer in Dubai, you can't go outside, right?
That's right. Outdoor activities during the day are genuinely impossible.
Desert tours are absolutely out of the question!!
There are days when the perceived temperature exceeds 50 degrees Celsius.
But Dubai has...
incredible malls!!

Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Marina Mall, City Walk...
They're massive, and the air conditioning is always blasting,
Most of Dubai's sightseeing
happens indoors,
with fantastic restaurants, endless shopping, and plenty of indoor activities.
If Korea is a country where you can do everything indoors even when it rains,
then Dubai is the country where you can do everything indoors even when it's scorching hot, LOL!
By the way, the malls are chilly... a jacket is a must...

⑤ Since it's a taxi and Uber culture, you're barely exposed to the outdoors
In Dubai, using Uber and Careem
is an everyday thing, more so than public transport!!
I've tried taking the subway and everything,
(there's even air conditioning at the bus stops!)

Hotel → Uber → Mall → Uber → Waterpark
With this itinerary, the time you spend outdoors
is only about 30 seconds to open the door and get into the car.
What's more, at the malls, at the taxi stands,
taxis are lined up and waiting~

It might even be less tiring than walking around in Europe in winter, bracing against the cold wind!!
Honestly, the taxi lifestyle was incredibly convenient for me when I lived there~

By the way, I recommend Uber over Careem.
Careem cars often have a strange, somewhat nauseating scent,
whereas Uber is generally cleaner and better.
Regular taxis can have a strong, car-sickness-inducing smell,
but the fares are comparable to taxi prices in Korea!!

But to be honest, there are downsides too.
Summer Dubai isn't perfect for absolutely everyone~
Outdoor sightseeing during the daytime is genuinely not recommended.
If you love things like Dubai desert tours or exploring outdoor souks,
then winter is definitely the right time for you, not summer!!

However, about desert tours and outdoor souk visits...
there are indoor souks, and as for desert tours, there's just one main experience,
as someone who has tried them all,
I don't regret skipping the desert tour!
I, personally, probably won't do a desert tour again if I visit~
Instead, go see an indoor show; they're quite famous there.

However,
For those who prefer indoor activities,
Families planning to focus on waterparks and malls,
Travelers seeking a luxurious resort experience at a 5-star hotel,
And those looking to save on flight + hotel budgets,

If this sounds like you, summer in Dubai is an absolute must-do!!
However, it's best to steer clear of the Ramadan period!!
