While planning our Daegu itinerary, we stumbled upon a new cafe that's been making waves in Daebong-dong, and I just had to share my experience!
Initially, I had my sights set on 'Patrick Coffee House' in Bukseong-ro, but it just didn't fit into our travel plans.
Luckily, 'Villa de Patrick,' the second venture from 'Patrick Coffee House,' was perfectly situated for our route – right before transitioning from Kim Gwangseok Street to Cheongna Hill's Modern Alley. So, we promptly paid it a visit!

🏡 A Space That Truly Feels Like Visiting a 'Home'
True to its name, this cafe is a charming transformation of an old house.
Step through the main gate, and you'll find a small courtyard.
Inside, sleek concrete floors meet vintage furniture, arranged in a way that feels effortlessly natural.
It doesn't feel overly decorated; instead, there's a comforting atmosphere, like a home that has been lived in and loved for years.
The rectangular window in the wall, offering a peek into the kitchen, was a delightful touch.
From the large potted plants and wooden window frames...
...to the counter finished with elegant blue tiles, every detail felt thoughtfully placed.
The seats by the window, offering views of the courtyard and sky, are especially popular – you'll find yourself snapping photos without even trying!
There's also another charming outdoor space deeper in the courtyard. Perfect for sipping coffee while gazing at the sky, wouldn't you agree?
Further inside, you'll find seating arrangements suitable for larger groups, and even more cozy spots tucked away (check out the photos below!).
☕ Coffee & Brunch, All in One Spot
The ambiance of this place alone was enough to win me over.
But what makes it even better is that it's not just a simple cafe; they also offer a selection of delicious brunch items.
Their menu features tempting options like the Sourdough Plate,
Pea Burrata Cheese,
Soy Sauce Egg Rice (Riso Pasta), and the delightful Home Sweet Home (dessert).
Popular items sometimes sell out in the afternoon, so if you're hoping to enjoy brunch, I recommend arriving a bit earlier!
As for drinks, an Espresso costs ~$3, and an Americano or Latte is around ~$3, making the prices quite reasonable!
We had already filled up at Suomien, so we just ordered iced americanos, and both were clean, smooth, and utterly satisfying! 👍
This spot can get quite busy, with waits sometimes, so if you're expecting complete solitude, you might be slightly disappointed.
However, the overall atmosphere of the space remains wonderfully calm.
Considering the quality of both the coffee and brunch, it's definitely a cafe worth revisiting.
If you're planning a date in Daebong-dong or a family outing in Daegu, you won't regret adding Villa de Patrick to your itinerary.
