Did you know there's a Ferris wheel in South Korea where you can sing karaoke?
During my recent trip to Daegu, a local friend recommended I check out Sparkland, and I'm so glad I did!
That's where I discovered and got to ride this unique Ferris wheel, complete with its own karaoke system inside each cabin.
Today, I'm excited to share my experience riding the karaoke Ferris wheel at Sparkland, one of the most fun things to do in Daegu's Dongseong-ro district.

Sparkland Dongseong-ro is an urban theme park situated right in the heart of Daegu's bustling Dongseong-ro area.
The park's facilities span from the 7th to the 9th floor of the building, with the rooftop featuring the iconic Ferris wheel and several other thrilling rides.
With a wide array of rides available, you can choose to purchase individual tickets for specific attractions or opt for an all-day pass to enjoy everything.
2. How to Ride the Daegu Karaoke Ferris Wheel
Since I was particularly keen on experiencing the karaoke Ferris wheel, I decided to purchase a standalone Ferris wheel ticket instead of the all-day pass.
At ~$7 per person, the Ferris wheel ticket isn't exactly cheap, but it's definitely worth it for the unique experience.
To ride, simply head up to the 8th floor, purchase your ticket from a kiosk, and then show it to the staff member at the Ferris wheel entrance. They'll guide you to your cabin.
3. My Sparkland Karaoke Ferris Wheel Experience
Initially, I was so focused on the novelty of the karaoke aspect that I didn't really consider the height. But once we started ascending, I realized it was much higher than I expected!
The Ferris wheel itself is already on a high rooftop, and as it climbed even higher, looking down was quite thrilling – and a little scary!
While sitting still, it feels fine, but if someone stands up or moves around, there's a noticeable sway. So, if you're not a fan of heights, this might give you a bit of a fright!
Despite the height, the situation of singing karaoke while soaring above the city was just hilarious and incredibly novel.
One minor drawback was that the song catalog isn't updated very frequently.
When I searched for the latest hits, many were missing. I found it easier to find songs that were popular about six months to a year ago, so keep that in mind when picking your tunes.
The ride lasts about 10 minutes, which is enough time for 2-3 songs. I was busy singing and admiring the views, making for a truly memorable 10 minutes!
A huge plus: the cabins have air conditioning, which was a lifesaver during Daegu's famously hot summers!
The Sparkland karaoke Ferris wheel in Daegu offers such a unique experience. As you climb to the top, seeing the cars moving below creates a genuinely breathtaking sensation, but it's an incredibly fun way to make lasting memories.
