Having traveled for business to Daegu's Keimyung University Seongseo Campus several times, I always find myself pondering over accommodation choices. Since there are hardly any hotels within walking distance of the university, I look for clean, budget-friendly options within the closest possible driving distance.
During my last business trip, I stayed at both Hotel Craphe Seongseo and Hound Hotel Daegu Seongseo, and I was satisfied with both. So, in this post, I'd like to briefly compare and introduce them.

Budget-Friendly Accommodations Near Keimyung University Seongseo Campus and Seongseo Industrial Complex
Location & Accessibility Comparison
Both hotels are located in the Keimyung University Seongseo Campus and Seongseo Industrial Complex area.
Travel time by car doesn't differ significantly.
Hound Hotel offers slightly more convenient access to the Seongseo Industrial Complex side.
Craphe makes it easier to use nearby commercial areas like Moda Outlet.
👉 Since the two hotels aren't far apart, there isn't much difference in location and accessibility.
Room & Atmosphere Differences
✔️ Hotel Craphe Seongseo
Spacious rooms with a stylish, sophisticated boutique interior.
Excellent lighting and furniture details make it perfect for relaxation and a refreshing break.
Features like suite/pool villa-style rooms, heated pools, and various themed rooms make it ideal for a 'hotel-cation' (staycation at a hotel).
✔️ Hound Hotel Daegu Seongseo
A neat and minimalist interior with beautiful, subtle lighting.
Highly practical with amenities like a styler, outlets, and tables.
Comfortable for solo business trips or staying before an exam.
👉 While both hotels had clean rooms, Hotel Craphe's interior was indeed prettier.

✔️ Hotel Craphe Seongseo
A simple breakfast featuring toast, cereal, and cup noodles.
Clean, but with fewer options.
✔️ Hound Hotel Daegu Seongseo
A substantial spread including eggs, fruit, soup, and instant ramen.
Highly satisfying for business travelers.
👉 If breakfast is important to you, Hound Hotel is definitely the better choice.
Parking Comparison
✔️ Hotel Craphe Seongseo
Free use of the ground-level parking lot on the 1st floor within the accommodation
It's quite small, with space for about 10 cars
If it's full, you can park on nearby roads or road shoulders

Free use of the ground-level parking lot on the 1st floor within the accommodation
Accommodates around 20-30 cars, with EV charging facilities available
Since there are two buildings, there's ample parking, making it reliable for business travelers
👉 Hound Hotel seems to offer more convenient parking.
Cleanliness & Service
👉 In terms of cleanliness and service, both places were satisfactory, so I didn't feel a big difference.
Both hotels maintained tidy rooms, bathrooms, and bedding
They were managed pleasantly, without any cigarette or unpleasant odors
The staff responses were also very friendly, so there were no inconveniences when using the hotel
So, which one should you choose?
✔️ When Hotel Crafe Seongseo might be a better fit
When your visit to Keimyung University or Seongseo is for a relaxing hotel stay, an anniversary, or a romantic getaway
If you prefer spacious rooms with stylish interiors and a great ambiance
Even if it's a business trip, when you value the time spent at the accommodation
✔️ When Hound Hotel Daegu Seongseo might be a better fit
When your stay is schedule-oriented, such as for exams, interviews, hospital visits, or business trips to Seongseo Industrial Complex
If you prioritize practicality, such as a quiet and clean environment, free breakfast, and parking
When you're looking for comfortable accommodation primarily for a business trip

This week, I also have a lecture in Daegu, but this time it's being conducted via Zoom. Daegu has many clean accommodations and attractions, making it a city I'd love to visit again for a business trip. If I go again, I'd probably find myself debating between Hotel Crafe and Hound Hotel once more.
