Dongdaegu Station Luggage Storage 2026: Shinsegae & Aquarium Guide

I recently took a train trip to Daegu with my little one, and let me tell you, navigating a new city while holding a child's hand and lugging heavy bags is no easy feat. I quickly realized I needed a luggage storage solution near Dongdaegu Station.

I scouted out both paid and free luggage storage options, and I'm excited to share all the details to help anyone else traveling with bags. Trust me, ditching your heavy luggage makes a world of difference!

Once we were free from our bags, we explored some fantastic activities at Daegu Shinsegae Department Store, which I'll also share with you.

This post will cover these topics in the order listed above. Let's dive in!

1. Paid Luggage Storage at Dongdaegu Station

The paid luggage storage facility is conveniently located right next to the Daiso Dongdaegu Station Branch, which you'll find when you take the subway from Daegu Shinsegae Department Store.

Just head downstairs to the basement level!

You'll spot the coin-operated luggage lockers right next to the Daiso store at Dongdaegu Station. There was plenty of space available when I visited!

The operating hours for the paid luggage storage at Dongdaegu Station are from 5:00 AM to midnight.

There are three different locker sizes available: small, medium, and large. The large lockers are perfect for storing suitcases and larger bags.

Here are the prices for the paid luggage storage. A single backpack usually fits in a small locker, two backpacks in a medium, and a suitcase in a large.

Important: Only ~$1 bills (1,000 KRW bills) are accepted. You'll use a password to open and close your locker.

2. Free Luggage Storage at Daegu Shinsegae Department Store

For a free option, head to the 5th floor of Daegu Shinsegae Department Store!

To find it, walk straight down the path next to the Hermes store. This path also connects to the bus terminal and Dongdaegu Station, and you'll find the free luggage storage lockers there.

These free lockers are much more numerous than the paid ones next to Daiso. I was a bit worried they might be full since it's a department store, but thankfully, there was plenty of availability!

The "free" part of these lockers applies for the first 4 hours only. After 4 hours, it converts to a paid service.

After the initial 4 hours, an hourly fee is charged, and the price varies depending on the locker size.

These free lockers come in small and large sizes. A small locker can fit about one backpack, while a large one is suitable for a suitcase.

3. Things to Do at Daegu Shinsegae Department Store

Once our bags were safely stored, we headed straight to the 9th floor of the department store. Daegu Shinsegae is not just for shopping; it also boasts an entertainment area and, most notably, a fantastic aquarium!

I did some digging to find the best deals on Daegu Aquarium tickets, and as of late 2026, Coupang seemed to offer the most competitive prices.

Here are the Daegu Aquarium ticket prices. If you're a Coupang Wow member, you might be eligible for additional discounts. While most other platforms had similar prices, Coupang was the only one where I found a special discount!
