My Honest Walk-In Guide to Cretya Ubud

If there's one place that completely stole my heart during my time in Ubud, it has to be Cretya Ubud.
Whenever friends tell me they're heading to Bali, this day club is the absolute first place I tell them to pin on their map.
It's incredibly popular—not just with international tourists, but with locals too! I visited as a #WalkIn, and if you follow my guide,
you'll learn exactly how to beat the crowds, save serious money, and get those picture-perfect shots without anyone photobombing you.
So, if your 2026 travel plans include Ubud,
you absolutely need to read this!🙏🏻
Why is it so famous?
📍 Cretya Ubud
Jl. Raya Tegallalang, Tegallalang, Kec. Tegallalang, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80561, Indonesia
📍 Hours: 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Located about a 40-minute drive (roughly 6 miles)
from downtown Ubud, this #DayClub is a true jungle paradise.

Our local guide shared a bit of history with us:
This massive property originally started as a traditional #LuwakCoffee plantation.
Recently, major investments transformed it into the luxurious destination it is today,
complete with breathtaking #InfinityPools, upscale #Restaurants, coffee tasting, and iconic #BaliSwings.
It's an incredible renovation!👍🏻

✓ Travelers with a tight itinerary
✓ Anyone wanting to knock out all the classic Bali experiences in one spot
✓ Those who prefer a relaxed day over hopping between multiple locations
✓ Independent travelers with flexible schedules
Seriously, everything Bali is famous for is right here.
(1) Luwak Coffee Tasting
Try Indonesia's most famous brew!
It's uniquely processed using beans that have been eaten and excreted by the Asian palm civet (luwak),
then thoroughly cleaned and roasted to perfection.
(2) Multi-Tiered Infinity Pools Overlooking Rice Terraces
This is the main reason Cretya has become a mandatory stop
on any Bali itinerary.✨
Even my husband, who usually hates posing for photos,
admitted we *had* to take pictures here. The views are just that stunning.
(3) The Iconic Bali Swing
These dramatic jungle swings are a huge reason
Bali became a viral photo destination.
Cretya operates several swings throughout the property,
making it super easy to get that classic flying-over-the-jungle shot.

(4) Restaurants with a View
There are multiple dining spots scattered around the club,
all offering sweeping views of the lush jungle
and terraced rice paddies.
You can grab a fantastic meal
while soaking in the scenery from almost any seat. :)

It's no wonder so many tour buses drop off
both international travelers and locals
here every single day.

Booking a VIP daybed at Cretya is convenient,
but reservations start around ~$77.
For a long-term traveler like me, that's a bit steep.
That's why I opted to just walk in.
If you're doing the same, you MUST follow these two rules.
You'll get the best photos during the golden, uncrowded hour
and enjoy the pools in total peace.
If you prefer to book a package in advance,
you can easily do so via Klook!

We arrived just 30 minutes after they opened,
and it was already buzzing with people.

We grabbed our tickets and sprinted to the Free Site area!
Even though it had only been half an hour, we snagged the very last free table.
It fills up incredibly fast!
Once our spot was secured, we immediately went to take photos before the pools got crowded.
It is breathtakingly beautiful. I totally understand why this is a must-do
for everyone visiting Bali.
🔻 The pools are even more stunning than videos can capture 🔻
There are gorgeous photo ops everywhere you turn. 👍🏻
Taking pictures when it's packed is super stressful,
so get your shots first thing,
then relax and swim afterward. :)
After our mini photoshoot, my husband and I swam for a solid 30 minutes!
We had a light breakfast of yogurt and drinks by the pool,
then set off to explore the rest of the club.

After leaving the pool area, we followed this route:
Restaurant ▶️ Luwak Coffee ▶️ Bali Swing ▶️ Statues
We finished exploring and left around 11:00 AM.
(The Bali Swing looked amazing, but I was way too scared to try it!)

Finally, we checked out the massive,
intricate stone statues and various photo zones.
By the time we walked out the front gates,
tour buses were pulling up, and the line of people
waiting to get in was absolute chaos.

I was so incredibly thankful
we decided to come early!
After such a perfect start to the morning,
we headed off to our next adventure: an Ubud waterfall tour! :)
If you're planning a trip to Bali,
I highly, highly recommend checking out #CretyaUbud.
Make sure to add this spectacular day club to your
itinerary and experience it for yourself! :)
The walk-in entrance fee is ~$3. To take many photos and swim comfortably without crowds, it's best to visit right at opening time. The article's author mentioned that the Free Site spots were fully occupied just 30 minutes after opening.
It takes approximately 40 minutes by car from Ubud city center to Cretya Ubud. Here, you can experience various attractions in one place, such as Luwak coffee, a two-story swimming pool with a rice terrace view, Bali swing, and restaurants with great views.
Upon entry, it's crucial to immediately head to the lowest floor and secure a Free Site spot first. After securing your spot, it's recommended to take photos during less crowded times, then swim, and finally explore the restaurant, Luwak coffee, Bali swing, and statues in that order.
