When you think of Bali Ubud, that iconic photo always comes to mind,

the one with the stunning rice terrace pool? That's Cretya Ubud.

From how to find free seating to the best photo spots,

I'll cover it all for you.

Location & Basic Info

✔ Approximately 20-30 minutes by car from Ubud center

Cretya Ubud isn't just about the pools;

it's a vibrant hub offering Bali swings, luwak coffee experiences,

sky biking, and more, all in one place.

It's truly a multi-faceted tourist destination.

With its iconic rice field views, it's a place you'll see all over Instagram,

and for good reason!

But when you actually get there, you might be surprised by just how much bigger it is

than you imagined.

There's a dedicated parking lot across from the entrance,

making it convenient for rental cars.

And if you arrive by Grab, you'll easily find a ride back.

Admission Ticket Comparison

Cretya Ubud has two types of tickets,

which can be a bit confusing for first-timers.

To use the pool,

you need to buy the Cretya Ubud admission ticket.

When you purchase it, you'll receive a yellow wristband and a

drink exchange coupon.

You can exchange it for a beer, cocktail, or other beverage.

You can order and enjoy several food items inside,

and the pizza is a decent, casual option,

perfect for satisfying your hunger.

If you're only planning to dine while enjoying the rice field view,

then purchase the 70k Rupiah Alas Harum admission ticket.

Outside food and drinks are not allowed upon entry.

You'll receive them back when you exit.

Seating Types & How to Find Free Seats

One of the most confusing things at Cretya Ubud is

Here are the types of seating available.

For premium seating like daybeds, cabanas, and hammocks,

there's a minimum spending requirement.

This ranges from 2 million to 3.5 million Rupiah,

which is approximately ~$117 to ~$212.

You'll need to spend at least this amount to secure one of these spots.

Here's how to find the free seating areas:

After entering, head straight to the right

→ then go downstairs

→ and look for the blue-cushioned poolside sofas.

There aren't many, usually around six tables,

so arriving right at opening is a good idea to snag one.

I arrived around noon,

and all the free seats were already taken.

So I politely asked someone in English if I could just leave my bag for a moment

while I went for a swim,

and they happily said OK.

Sure enough, while I was swimming, a spot opened up!

If you're planning an "open run" just for a seat,

you might not need to worry too much, even if you don't make it right at opening.

There are also valuable lockers available (75,000 Rupiah).

The atmosphere is relaxed enough that people feel comfortable leaving their spots, so everyone uses them with ease.

3 Must-Visit Photo Spots

At Cretya Ubud, there are three essential photo spots

you absolutely have to capture.

Photo Spot 1 — The Panoramic Pool View

Head to the restaurant building on the upper level above the pool,

and you'll get a stunning bird's-eye view of the paid seating and the entire pool area.

From this vantage point, you can capture both the incredible rice terrace views

and the beautifully curved swimming pools in one shot.

Photo Spot 2 — The Edge of the Second-Floor Pool

Sit on the edge of the pool

and take a photo from behind or from the side,

and you'll get the pool and the stunning rice terrace views

all in one perfect frame.

After 10 AM, it gets quite crowded,

making it tricky to get a solo shot.

Photo Spot 3 — The Net Viewing Platform

Instead of sitting directly on the net,

try sitting on the steel frame between the nets.

You can straighten your back and get a really beautiful photo.

The pictures will give you the amazing feeling of floating in mid-air!

The most efficient way to experience this is to arrive at opening, hit up the photo spots first,

and then enjoy a refreshing swim.

Practical Pro Tips

✔ Towels: Available for rent at 75,000 Rupiah

If you haven't checked out of your hotel yet,

bringing your own beach towel can save you some money.

✔ Changing rooms, restrooms, and shower facilities are available

(but no toiletries or hair dryers are provided).

✔ Come with your swimsuit already on underneath your clothes.

You'll want to secure a spot and capture those amazing photos first,

so you won't have much time to change later.

✔ Very few people wear rash guards here.

It's more of a swimsuit-only vibe.

✔ Bali Swing is available for separate use.

You can use it without a prior reservation,

and dress rental is also an option!

✔ Near the exit, you can also spot civet cats

and enjoy a tasting of Luwak coffee.

For Cretya Ubud, just remember these three things:

where to find free seating, timing your arrival (especially for those prime 'open-run' spots!), and bringing your own towel.

Keep these in mind,

and you'll be perfectly prepared – no need to wander or wonder once you're there!
