Before settling into our one-night stay at the Marriott hotel in Dallas, we made a quick stop at a classic American rest area as we entered the city.
Looking back, the name was incredibly straightforward: "Gas! City! Wash!"
Plus, "Beer! Tacos!"
Honestly, why is there beer at a rest stop? LOL! It seems they don't consider beer to be 'alcohol' in the traditional sense here in the States.
I didn't buy anything else there, just a lottery ticket.
I really wanted to try #Powerball, but I had no idea how it worked, so I just grabbed a cheaper scratch-off instead.
So many options! But since there's no photo on my phone of any winnings, I guess it was a bust. Oh well, bye-bye!
Before heading to #GopchangIyagiDallas, we checked into our hotel.

My older brother had joined us, and since it was our last day before I returned to Korea and my parents headed back to New York, we planned for a big night out with plenty of drinks! So, we decided to drop our bags at the hotel and take an Uber there and back.

We had a bit of a funny moment because my brothers, bless their hearts, assumed Gopchang Iyagi would be in the main Korean restaurant district. But it turns out it was in a slightly newer, developing area, making the distance between the hotel and the restaurant a bit further than we expected!
Anyway, we ended up at the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Carrollton. It's a relatively new hotel, and being near the Korean Town area, it was bustling with Korean guests. For a moment, I thought I'd arrived back in Korea a day early!
The lobby was, as always with Marriott, impeccably clean. And of course, we were assigned to the second floor again!
While the lobby was quite lively, the hallway remained peaceful. Though, I must admit, the elevators were pretty busy during checkout the next morning!
I'm not sure why I started by snapping photos of the bathroom, but here we are...
It's always a treat how many 3-star hotels in the US, with its vast land, come equipped with bathtubs. Even though I never actually got to use it!
The amenities were from Tea Tree, which I always wonder if it's a Korean brand or not. (A quick check confirms it's an Australian brand, popular globally!)
And, as expected, a wonderfully spacious room.
Two double beds... hmm, one looks a bit narrower in the photo, but I recall them being two comfortable double beds. Plenty of space for a good night's sleep!
Just like other Marriott properties, this one also had a coffee machine. By now, it feels almost essential to enjoy a cup every morning!
There was also a plush sofa, but after our delicious meal at Gopchang Iyagi and some more drinks back at the hotel, we barely had time to sit on it!
It felt like we mostly just slept at the hotel on our last night, but it was a comfortable and much-needed rest!
After checking into the hotel, we took an Uber to Gobchang Iyagi. We used Uber because the distance between the hotel and the restaurant was further than expected.
The rooms featured a bathtub, two double beds, a coffee machine, and a plush sofa. Tea tree products were provided as amenities.
The lobby was quite bustling, but the hallways were quiet. It was reported that the elevators were crowded during checkout the next morning.
