Making the most of the weekend with a 1-night, 2-day trip,
purely for the love of udon,
I visited Takamatsu!
Actually, this was my second visit to Takamatsu,
so **no matter which udon restaurant we went to,**
I focused most on finding places within **walking distance**.
Comfort Hotel Takamatsu was
close to all the best udon spots,
located right in Takamatsu city center,
and offered incredible value for money.
It was the perfect hotel for our needs!
We visited during the peak season weekend in August (Saturday to Sunday)
and paid approximately ~$146.
During off-peak weekdays, the lowest price starts at around ~$73,
making it possible to book
this amazing value hotel.
I searched for 2-night availability starting September 18th, the week before Chuseok,
and it turns out that on Agoda, **rooms are already sold out**!
It's an incredibly popular hotel!
If you're planning a trip to Takamatsu,
**I highly recommend booking right away!**
Comfort Hotel Takamatsu Location
Comfort Hotel Takamatsu is
just a 3-minute walk from Nakajin cho,
which is the Takamatsu Airport Limousine bus stop.
After getting off the limousine bus,
walk in the opposite direction the bus was heading,
to the end of the block,
and you'll see the hotel right there.
Even when heading back to the airport,
it was incredibly convenient as we could catch the limousine bus
just a 5-minute walk from the hotel!
What's more, Comfort Hotel Takamatsu was positioned
right in the middle of all the amazing Takamatsu udon restaurants
I visited over two days!
As a Sanuki udon enthusiast who's visited Takamatsu twice just for the udon,
this is my carefully curated itinerary of udon hotspots.
Every single shop was within a maximum 15-minute walk
from Comfort Hotel Takamatsu.
Udon Bakaichidai, in particular,
has become incredibly famous, even in Korea, with many YouTubers visiting recently.
It's a true udon hotspot!
These days, if you don't do an 'open run' at 6 AM,
you'll have to wait for over an hour and a half even in the early morning
just to get in.
It's become that popular!
If you're planning to visit Udon Bakaichidai,
I recommend booking accommodation in a location that allows you to get there quickly in the early morning!
Comfort Hotel Takamatsu
Perfect Rooms for Couples or Friends
To stay with my partner, as a couple,
I booked a double room.
While checking in, I noticed
many Korean guests visiting in pairs, like a mother and child,
or families of three with a child.
Beyond the double room I booked,
they offer single rooms, twin-bedded rooms for two,
and even family rooms with triple beds.
With such a variety of room types available,
I felt it was a fantastic place to stay
whether visiting with friends or family.
One space I particularly loved in the room was
this table!
Even though it was an affordable, value-for-money hotel,
it had a table and chairs
where we could enjoy a simple meal.
It was so convenient and perfect for spreading out all the late-night snacks we bought from the convenience store!!
I heard the rooms were recently renovated,
and there was a clever space right next to the bed, under the charger,
where we could neatly place our devices
while they charged.
When charging electronic devices in hotels,
there's often not enough space,
forcing us to put them awkwardly by our heads
or on the floor, which can feel a bit unsanitary.
So, I thought this feature was incredibly thoughtful and showed great attention to detail.
The bathroom wasn't huge,
but for a value-for-money hotel, it felt quite spacious.
Best of all, there wasn't a single water stain on any of the fixtures;
it was impeccably clean, which always makes for a pleasant stay!
Even when set to 40 degrees Celsius, the hot water flowed out generously,
so even those who might miss having a large communal bath
could still find some comfort and relaxation.
A basic toothbrush and toothpaste set was provided in the bathroom.
A hairdryer was also available,
but the airflow was quite weak, which was a bit of a shame.
Behind the door, you'll find a refrigerator, coffee pot, and cups.
The refrigerator worked well,
but it did not have a freezer function.
Slippers were provided in the room,
and for an extra touch of comfort, you can pick up a shower gown
from the 2nd-floor lobby.
With no tall buildings obstructing the view in front of the hotel,
the blue sky looked absolutely stunning.
Even late at night, with no buildings in the way,
we could open the curtains without worry and enjoy the beautiful night view.
We could even open the window a little,
so I took a moment to breathe in the warm late summer air, haha!
2nd Floor Lobby Cafeteria and Other Facilities
Comfort Hotel Takamatsu features
a fantastic cafeteria where you can relax
and enjoy unlimited lemon tea, iced water, and more,
24 hours a day.
Even though it was late August, the weather was as scorching as July in Korea,
and I found myself easily exhausted even from short walks.
But taking breaks in the hotel lobby to quench my thirst with iced water
made even the udon taste even better, believe it or not!?
Comfort Hotel Takamatsu is also renowned for
offering complimentary breakfast!
True to my travel concept,
I didn't get to try it because I was busy eating udon for breakfast,
but I hear the Tuna Ochazuke is absolutely delicious!
What's more, you can conveniently store your luggage
with a self-set password lock
both before and after check-in.
What I found a bit disappointing about Comfort Hotel Takamatsu
The late check-in time of 3 PM
and early check-out time of 10 AM
were a bit of a letdown.
Just a heads-up, early check-in is possible,
but an additional charge per person (1,000 JPY per hour per person) applies.
Also, the fact that all rooms have carpeted floors
was a minor drawback.
Comfort Hotel Takamatsu is especially recommended for:

The rooms are convenient, featuring a table and chairs for light meals, and charging space next to the bed. The weak airflow of the hairdryer and the lack of a freezer compartment in the refrigerator were disappointing.
The 2nd-floor lobby offers a cafeteria with 24-hour unlimited lemon tea and ice water, along with a complimentary breakfast. Check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out is at 10 AM.
