1. What is Columbia Pictures Aquaverse?
Columbia Pictures Aquaverse is the world's very first Columbia Pictures-themed water park, brought to life by Sony Pictures Entertainment. Spanning over 25 acres (10 hectares), this massive park opened its doors in October 2022 and features over 30 state-of-the-art rides and attractions.
The park is divided into 8 immersive zones themed after legendary Hollywood blockbusters like Jumanji, Ghostbusters, Hotel Transylvania, Bad Boys, and Zombieland. Instead of a typical water park, it feels like stepping right onto a movie set!
Beyond the thrilling water slides, you’ll find live shows, themed dining experiences, and a mega wave pool to keep you entertained all day long.

3. Honest Review & Personal Highlights

Once you present your QR code at the entrance, you will receive a wearable wristband. You can top this up with cash to use for food, drinks, and locker rentals inside. I loaded about 1,000 THB (~$29) onto mine, which was the perfect amount for snacks and refreshments throughout the day.

What immediately stood out to me was how beautifully themed and detailed the entire park is. Every corner has cute, Instagram-worthy elements.

After entering, head straight to the locker zone to change. Keep in mind that the concrete paths get incredibly hot under the Thai sun. I highly recommend wearing aqua shoes to protect your feet!

Pattaya has several water parks, but I chose Aquaverse specifically for its live entertainment. While water slides are thrilling, they are somewhat similar everywhere. The live shows here really set it apart.
They display the daily show schedule clearly, so make sure to snap a photo of it to plan your day. I was lucky enough to catch a live pool bar performance right as I walked in!

Even the slide towers are fully decked out with Sony Pictures character designs, making the experience feel incredibly immersive for both kids and movie-buff adults.

One massive perk is how well-organized the slide layouts are. Instead of hiking miles between attractions, many of the best slides are grouped close together, saving you from getting exhausted.
In the Ghostbusters zone, they even have a tube elevator that carries the heavy multi-person rafts to the top for you! Dragging heavy tubes up stairs is usually the worst part of water parks, so this was a game-changer. (Note: This is only for the massive rafts; you still have to carry smaller single tubes yourself.)

Visiting in February, I was pleasantly surprised by how uncrowded the park was. We barely had to wait in line for any of the major slides, meaning we could ride our favorites back-to-back.
When you need a break, there are plenty of free sunbeds scattered around the park. Grab one and relax!

Of course, no water park is complete without a lazy river. You can grab a tube and float along peacefully.

The lazy river area is super cute, themed after Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. It feels like floating through a giant food-filled movie scene!

After working up an appetite on the slides, we ordered a fresh pizza. The 1,000 THB (~$29) we loaded onto our wristbands covered lunch for two perfectly.
The Mega Wave Pool triggers waves every 20 minutes. They have a massive outdoor cinema screen and blast upbeat music (including plenty of global hits!) while the waves are rolling.
For families, the foam parties are a massive hit. The Hotel Transylvania kid's pool zone hosts regular foam blasts that the little ones absolutely love.

We also caught a foam party at the Mega Wave Pool. Since the park wasn't crowded, it felt like we had our own private VIP pool party!
The music and videos playing on the big screen were highly energetic, featuring popular K-pop and international pop hits that kept the vibe incredibly fun.

The Zombieland zone features several high-speed drop slides. This zone alone kept us entertained for a long time since we could try multiple different slide paths.

My personal favorite was the Jumanji zone. It offers two different slides that deliver some serious adrenaline. Almost every review I read mentioned how short the lines are, and I can totally confirm that!
Before heading out, we made sure to catch the character parade. It features all the iconic movie characters and is super fun. Pro tip: rewatch a few Columbia Pictures favorites before your trip to appreciate the characters even more!
