Çıtır Balık Antalya Review 2026: Fresh Seafood & Unlimited Salad
Discover Çıtır Balık, an Antalya gem for fresh seafood and an unbeatable unlimited salad bar. Read our 2026 review to see why this local favorite is a must-visit for travelers!

The bright, golden sunshine of Antalya, the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea,
and the mouthwatering aromas wafting through every cobblestone alley.
If you ask me to name the most memorable meal
from our family trip to Antalya, Türkiye,
I would recommend this spot in a heartbeat.

A place beloved by travelers from all corners of the globe—
today, I'm sharing an honest review of the mind-blowing fried calamari
and other local delicacies we tried at Çıtır Balık.
01. Why We Chose This Antalya Gem
Unbeatable value and an unlimited salad bar

Çıtır Balık
With a stellar 4.5-star Google rating and over 6,000 reviews,
this is a tried-and-true Antalya hotspot
that was high on my must-visit list.
Since it's raved about by locals and tourists alike,
my expectations were sky-high before we even arrived! haha
The absolute best parts about this place
are its unbelievable, budget-friendly prices
and the unlimited free salad bar system.

The ordering system is quite unique.
When you order at the counter, they stuff freshly fried fish or calamari
right inside a freshly sliced loaf of bread.
They hand you the sandwich on a plate with plenty of empty space,
which you then take to the salad bar on the side.
There, you can load up on fresh veggies and sauces to your heart's content
to customize your perfect sandwich!

With how fresh the vegetables like lettuce, tomatoes, and onions are,
I couldn't help but marvel at what an amazing deal this was.
The staff are incredibly fast and friendly too.
Even though the space is small and can get a bit chaotic,
we had a wonderful, stress-free dining experience.
02. Turkish Stuffed Mussels & Sandwich Review

The absolute stars of the show here are definitely
the fried cod and fried calamari sandwiches!
In Turkish, cod is called "mezgit"
and squid/calamari is "kalamar".
I took a huge bite of the calamari sandwich,
and oh my goodness, it was on a completely different level from any calamari I've ever had!

Usually, when you think of fried calamari,
you expect a chewy or slightly rubbery texture.
But here, it literally melts in your mouth
with an unbelievably tender texture that took me by surprise.
The pieces were plump and meaty,
without a hint of fishiness—the absolute definition of crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside.

The batter itself was incredibly thin and light.
Both the cod and the calamari were perfectly moist and fresh.
The seasoning isn't overpowering at all,
making it super approachable and absolutely delicious for global travelers!
It was so good that after polishing off the sandwiches,
we actually ordered a separate plate of fried calamari on its own.

You also can't miss out on Midye Dolma (Turkish stuffed mussels),
which they sell right on the side.
The spiced rice inside is nicely seasoned and slightly salty,
making it the perfect little savory bite to pair with your sandwich.

Since it's seafood, I was a bit worried about hygiene at first,
but the turnover rate is so high that everything was incredibly fresh,
and my whole family enjoyed the meal with absolutely no stomach issues!
Just a heads-up, they don't provide wet wipes here.
I highly recommend packing a small travel-sized pack of wet wipes
in your bag when you're out and about!
03. How It Compares to Other Seafood Spots

There are plenty of seafood restaurants and kebab shops in Antalya,
but it's hard to find a spot that nails both
incredible value and delicious flavor quite like this one.
When we visited, prices were around
~$3 to ~$4 per sandwich.
It’s not the quiet, fine-dining type of place,
but it's absolutely perfect for soaking up that vibrant local energy!

A quick heads-up, though.
If you visit during peak dining hours, the line can get pretty long,
and you might have to wait for over 30 minutes.
I walked past the area around dinnertime,
and the queue was... honestly mind-boggling.

Most of the seating is outdoors,
so there's no air conditioning—just fans blowing.
Since we were on a family trip to Antalya in the dead of summer,
we were all sweating bullets, but it was so
incredibly delicious that we'd still highly recommend it!
04. Final Review & Quick Info for Çıtır Balık
The perfect spice-free, hassle-free meal
📍 Çıtır Balık
Kılınçarslan, Atatürk Cd. No:79, 07100 Muratpaşa/Antalya, Türkiye
Out of all the meals we had during our Türkiye trip,
this was hands down one of the most budget-friendly, satisfying, and genuine local gems we found!
Location-wise, it's nestled in Antalya's Old Town (Kaleiçi),
just a 7-minute walk
from the famous landmark, Hadrian's Gate.

Opening hours are from 12:00 PM to 11:30 PM,
giving you plenty of time
to drop by for either lunch or dinner.
* Hours are subject to change, so
be sure to double-check Google Maps before you head out!
They accept both cards and cash,
which makes things super easy for travelers.

However, keep in mind that price fluctuations are common in tourist areas in Türkiye.
Prices can change every few months,
so checking the menu when you arrive
is always your best bet.
If you're sensitive to strong local spices
or struggling to find local food that suits your palate,
this place will be an absolute lifesaver.
If you're visiting Antalya, **Çıtır Balık**
is a must-visit!
