Chuon Chuon Kim had been on my radar for ages, a truly famous spot I somehow kept missing. This trip, I was determined to finally experience it, and I'm thrilled to say I did!

I finally paid a visit.

While Vietnam boasts an array of delicious dishes, for a truly satisfying and comforting meal, home-style cooking is always the best choice. It feels like a must-do at least once during any trip.

After a leisurely morning (skipping breakfast to make room!), we arrived around 1:30 PM. Our hotel had even granted us an early check-in, so we were all settled before heading out to eat.

Almost Missed It

It was a hot day, and even hotter in the afternoon, but we decided to walk! (We totally called a Grab taxi for the ride back though, haha!) I usually enjoy walking, so I thought, 'This distance is nothing!' But being midday, it was surprisingly warm, probably around 90 degrees Fahrenheit. I was walking without checking my map, and suddenly I thought, 'Oh, this place looks nice!' and almost walked right past it – turns out, it *was* Chuon Chuon Kim! Haha!

Despite its reputation as a Nha Trang hotspot, we didn't encounter any waiting line, which was a pleasant surprise.

There are tables both outside, near the entrance, and inside, like this. The overall interior design beautifully captures an authentic local feel. It's truly charming.​

This is the Chuon Chuon Kim menu. While I heard there might be a separate Korean menu, this one was perfect, with clear photos and English descriptions, making it very easy to choose.

They mentioned that fried rice dishes are only available from 2 PM. I was initially going to pick something else, but since it was already about 1:40 PM, I just went ahead and ordered it. They said, 'We'll bring it out at 2 PM!'

And so, these were the first dishes to arrive. Many travelers often look for Chuon Chuon Kim menu recommendations in Nha Trang, but I simply chose what appealed to me – after all, taste is subjective and personal!

Authentic Local Vibe, From Taste to Atmosphere

As we were enjoying our first dishes, the fried rice soon followed. It was delicious, packed with various nuts, but honestly, the rice that came with our earlier dishes was already quite generous! I hadn't intended to eat much rice, but with the savory morning glory and shrimp we ordered, it was simply irresistible.​

The Chuon Chuon Kim prices are listed on the menu above, but for everything we ordered, the total came to 385,000 VND, which is roughly ~$13.​

I noticed after our meal that there were also tables upstairs. It would be great for larger groups, but for smaller parties, the downstairs area felt more intimate. Both the taste and the atmosphere truly captured the essence of a local Nha Trang city restaurant, and we had a fantastic meal. I'd definitely return next time I'm craving Vietnamese home cooking in Nha Trang. Perhaps I'll try an outdoor table by the entrance next time, even if it gets a bit warm!​
