While heading to the Chongqing Art Museum, I recently stumbled upon a cafe called Cloud House Baiyunguan (白云馆, 中英联络处店).

I discovered it while looking for a cafe nearby, and what caught my eye was that each floor had a unique concept. So, I’ve put together detailed information about each floor, along with my reviews of their coffee and desserts.

By subway, it's easily accessible, just a 3-4 minute walk (about 200m) from Exit 2 of Linjiangmen Station (临江门站). With famous attractions clustered nearby, planning your itinerary around it is a breeze!

The Chongqing Art Museum (Guotai Arts Center) is right across the street, just a 1-2 minute walk away, Jiefangbei is a 6-9 minute walk, and Hongyadong is also within easy reach, about a 7-10 minute walk.

3. My Visit & The Interior Vibe

Initially, I wasn't familiar with the building's concept, so I went inside the 1st floor, thinking it was a dining area. However, I was kindly guided to the 2nd floor for the cafe.

Looking at the floor-by-floor information above, the 1st floor houses ANGELINA (desserts and Western cuisine), and the 2nd floor is WHATEVER COFFEE & SUNWAH TEA (coffee, tea, snacks). Since the operating establishments themselves are different, it makes sense that you're directed to a different floor depending on what you want to order.

Once I arrived on the 2nd floor, I found the cafe's counter and menu.

The staff were dressed neatly, almost like they were in a restaurant, which added to the sophisticated atmosphere.

The drink menu was quite diverse, and the prices weren't too steep either.

It was also a huge plus that the staff could speak English, making communication a breeze when ordering.

There was a dessert display, and while the drinks were reasonably priced, the desserts were a bit on the higher side.

I ordered two Americanos (20 Chinese Yuan each), a Mont Cheri (48 Chinese Yuan), and a Black Tea Pistachio Mousse (32 Chinese Yuan), bringing the total to 120 Chinese Yuan.

There was a fantastic variety of seating options, too.

The soft lighting created a wonderfully cozy atmosphere.

With classical music and mellow pop songs playing in the background, it was a comfortable atmosphere perfect for both lively conversations and quiet solo moments.

The open feel, with clear views of the outside through the windows, made it much more appealing than your typical chain cafe.

And personally, the most welcome discovery was that the restroom had a Western-style toilet!

When traveling in Chongqing, finding a restroom with a Western-style toilet can be a surprisingly crucial detail, but thankfully, I could use this one without any worries!

4. Coffee & Dessert Review

I found a cozy spot at a window seat inside.

The warm sunlight streaming in made it even more delightful.

The Iced Americano had low acidity and a rich, nutty flavor, which made it absolutely perfect to pair with dessert.

For desserts, I ordered the Mon Chéri and the Black Tea Pistachio Mousse. Both had a beautiful, jelly-like coating on the outside, giving them such a fluffy, dreamy appearance that they almost looked too pretty to eat!

First up, the Mon Chéri (蒙榭丽, Mon Chéri) – named after the French term for "my love" – was a stunning cherry-shaped glazed mousse cake.

Its exterior was coated in a shiny, bright red syrup, while inside, it held a smooth cream and a delightful sweet-tart cherry fruit jam, creating a wonderfully sweet and tangy flavor profile.

I loved that it tasted like real cherries, not artificial flavoring, and the white cream on top was absolutely charming. Even the coffee cream wasn't overly sweet, making it wonderfully balanced.

Next, I tried the Black Tea & Pistachio Mousse (红茶开心果慕斯, Black Tea & Pistachio Mousse) – a delightful mousse cake that literally melts in your mouth, without any traditional cake layers.

With a slightly bitter yet fragrant black tea base, perfectly complemented by the nutty, rich flavor of pistachio, it offered a sophisticated taste that wasn't overly sweet. And oh, the cream texture was incredibly smooth!
