Chao Mao Nha Trang Review 2026: Best Seafood Spot

Today, I'm bringing you a recommendation for an amazing downtown Nha Trang restaurant.

I had a delicious lunch at Chao Mao 2, a restaurant specializing in seafood, and it was 100% paid for with my own money. It was so good that I actually went back a second time during my 3-night, 5-day trip!

While doing some research to write this blog post, I found out there's actually a way to book a table in advance with a whopping 10% discount.. 🥹ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I only just found out about this now..

Nha Trang downtown restaurant, recommended Nha Trang restaurant

Three generations of our family—including my parents, my sister, my brother-in-law, my niece, my husband, and me—traveled to Nha Trang during the Lunar New Year holiday (Vietnam's Tet season). I spent so much time searching for a great restaurant in downtown Nha Trang for our first day. In our case, my mom doesn't eat pork at all, so I figured seafood would be the perfect choice.

And that's how we decided on Chao Mao 2, a seafood specialty restaurant! 🦀

Because they source live seafood fresh every morning, you can enjoy incredibly fresh dishes! I heard it was even featured on the Nha Trang episode of the popular Korean food show, 'Delicious Guys'.

It's also fun just looking at the fresh catches in the tanks! 🦞

First of all, Chao Mao 2 has such an amazing location, which makes it even easier to recommend. You can easily sort out massage shops, fruit stalls, and shopping all right nearby! Hahaha.

They get a lot of Korean tourists, so they have Korean menus and English translations ready, which made ordering super convenient! 👍🏻

There are first and second floors, and we were guided to the second floor.

I booked in advance via Instagram DM, but if you don't use Instagram or find DM booking too complicated, booking through the Klook link I shared above is even better because you can get a discount! 🤍

They have great group seating arrangements, so it was perfect for a big family group like ours!

As soon as we sat down, we ordered ice-cold beers! 🍻🍺🧊

The glasses were served wonderfully chilled too, haha.

Most of all, my parents loved how clean, comfortable, and spacious the place felt!!!

When I visited, it was during the holiday season (Tet period) where prices rise by 10% T_T

Oh well, I guess the discounts wouldn't have been applicable during this peak period anyway..

Of course, you can also order dishes à la carte!

So we ordered a set menu and added a few à la carte dishes we wanted to try, and it was absolutely perfect.

After ordering the 4-person set, we added a few extra dishes:

We added spicy seafood Mi Quang, garlic stir-fried tiger prawns, deep-fried coconut shrimp, crab fried rice, and some Coca-Colas~~~

I heard a lot of people end up returning here, and well, we did exactly that lol! 😂 With amazing reviews and a solid reputation, it's a fail-proof downtown Nha Trang spot. Plus, no crazy wait times, which makes traveling in a group so much easier!

The seafood dishes at Chao Mao 2 started arriving one by one!

We had garlic stir-fried razor clams, grilled scallops with scallion oil, squid ink cuttlefish fry, and razor clams with garlic butter sauce. Pro tip: you can get the garlic butter razor clams for free just by leaving a Google review!

Next up, the morning glory made its entrance!

Maybe because we were super hungry, but honestly, everything tasted incredible.

We all had such a satisfying lunch at this downtown Nha Trang gem.

Grilled Cheese Lobster🦞

You get two plates of lobster in total, and considering grilled cheese lobster is included, the price is incredibly reasonable!

They prep and crack them for you, so you can easily enjoy the tender meat without any hassle 👍🏻

The garlic stir-fried tiger prawns were also delicious 🦐🤍

Crab Fried Rice🦀

There's such a wide variety of seafood dishes, making it perfect for satisfying everyone in the family!

I think this one was the garlic fried rice!

Spicy Seafood Mi Quang—

As the name suggests, the spicy kick made it even more delicious! haha

We also thoroughly enjoyed the deep-fried shrimp.

Though they're not in the photos, we might have ordered a few more dishes. I can't quite remember...!
