Get ready for a serious treat! Bonnuvelle Bakery in Yongin's Suji district is a massive multi-story haven, boasting an incredible array of fresh-baked goods.
Yongin Bakery Pilgrimage: Bonneuvel Bakery
A Grand Suji Bakery Cafe We Visited Two Days in a Row!
We stopped by Bonneuvel Bakery, a bakery in Suji, Yongin,
after visiting my friend Samdori's housewarming party!
Samdori told me there were about 250 types of bread,
and while I didn't actually count, stepping inside the store,
it really felt like a bakery of that immense scale.
After having coffee at Coffee Rosso, we initially dropped by just to pick up a few loaves
for breakfast the next morning before heading to our next destination.
But we fell so completely in love with the taste of the bread, that it's absolutely no secret (haha!)
that we ended up visiting again the very next day, just us!
To cut to the chase, this place became our ultimate bakery pilgrimage hotspot
during our trip to Yongin.

A Yongin Bakery Cafe That Impresses Right From the Parking Lot!

First off, the parking lot was incredibly spacious.
There was even a dedicated person managing the parking, and the sheer scale of the building
was so massive that we "small-town folks" were utterly amazed, haha!
The building was so huge, it was hard to even capture its entire exterior
in a single shot.

There's even a fountain, and the atmosphere was absolutely delightful~

And the entire building, from the basement level to the 3rd floor,
is Bonneuvel Bakery!!
We just stopped by a bakery, but its sheer size had us stunned right from the start, haha!
Bonneuvel: The Dream of the Seo Brothers, Truly Passionate About Bread

Bonneuvel is described as a space created from the dreams of the Seo brothers, who are truly passionate about bread, and their impressive backgrounds just left us speechless, haha!
As I explored every corner of the store, I began to understand why they offer such a diverse range of baked goods.
We visited around 3:30 PM on a weekend, and there were so many customers buying bread.
I really wanted to capture the entire store properly, but with so many people,
it was absolutely impossible to take photos without customers in them.
Nonetheless, the joy of browsing all the breads was definitely there!
An Astounding Variety of Baked Goods

The Yongin character must be Yong-i, a dragon. Joayong's (Good Dragon's) "Delicious Place" is super cute, haha!

Once we truly started browsing the breads,
the variety was absolutely astounding.

Each bread had its ingredients and a brief explanation written alongside it,
and although I didn't take separate photos, origin labels were also densely displayed.

There were so many recommended and popular breads, and with the aroma of freshly baked bread filling the entire store, we were constantly exclaiming "Wow! Wow!" as we looked around, apparently showing off our "wide-eyed explorer" side quite a bit, haha!

I really enjoyed the chestnut pie from Gongju Bakery Bam Maeul, and seeing the whole chestnut pie here made me think this one would be delicious too, haha!

A cucumber baguette? What even is that? haha
I wonder how delicious it would be with cucumber ade!
I was imagining it all to myself, activating my inner foodie mode! haha
As I was browsing through each and every bread,
the bread names and combinations were quite interesting! haha

I love Fougasse, and I also love Myeongran Baguettes,
and with such great prices, how could I resist?! haha

And here's something I found out later!
I heard that Bon Nouvelle's salt bread is really tasty,
and during my visit, the best-selling bread of the week was actually
the Nurungji Salt Bread!
With its incredibly crispy look, I just had to grab one for my tray,
and I bet my mom enjoyed it thoroughly! haha

I had to take photos, pick out bread,
and just explore everything – I was so busy! haha

From trendy breads like 'Wakppu' salt bread,
to old-school favorites, savory meal breads, and healthy options – there was such a diverse range.
It really didn't feel like they focused on just one type,
the selection was truly wide, catering to all sorts of tastes.

There were tons of muffins, cookies, and baked goods too!

There were even desserts like fruit jellies,
which seemed perfect as snacks for kids.

And the slice cakes that absolutely caught my eye!
Samdoli tried a few varieties, and he said every single cake he tried
was incredibly delicious! haha

The refreshing Lemon and the Lemon Fig cakes looked particularly
delicious, so I spent quite a while admiring them.
From Savory Breads to Sweet Desserts – Something for Every Taste!

Samdoli's family usually goes for the meal breads,
but the bread they originally planned to buy wasn't available that day, unfortunately. 😢
Instead, they grabbed the olive ciabatta, which is their second favorite,
and let me tell you, it was truly, truly delicious.

Is this part of their Italian pizza bread series? haha

And there were also lovely desserts perfect for gifting,
along with a variety of luxurious packaging options.
I was thinking how incredibly happy I'd be to receive a dessert gift like this! haha

The whole cakes packed into the showcase also
had visuals that were absolutely no joke,

And even the petit mousse cake set, which was simply dazzling!

As someone who loves strawberries and is a huge mint fan,
My eyes just glazed over the moment I saw the Mint Strawberry Fraisier! Haha.
My younger sister and I, the 'Amy & Miranda Sisters,' even made elaborate plans to buy a whole cake and fully indulge our cravings next time we visit Samdol's house. Haha!

There were also so many desserts perfect for gifting on the spot,
So it was really fun just browsing around.
While I was excitedly looking at this and that,
My dad suddenly called me over, telling me to come and see something.

Wait, what???? Is this a Chocolate Hojakdo????

Those chocolates look delicious too, yum yum :p

It seemed like there were tons of commendation certificates and several books published,
So we could see traces of the diverse activities they've been involved in.

On the way up to the 2nd and 3rd floors,
There were even Presidential commendations and 'Master of Life' plaques,
Making it quite enjoyable to look around.
Bonne Nouvelle Bakery Beverage Menu

The variety of beverages was quite extensive.

We only took our bread to go, but on the 2nd and 3rd floors,
You can enjoy your purchased bread with a beverage.
The store is large with plenty of seating,
So it looked like a great spot to choose some bread and eat it right away.
My Review of the Bread We Bought from Bonne Nouvelle Bakery

The next morning, it was Samdol's Home Cafe Time!
We had coffee with a few breads we bought from Bonne Nouvelle, and the olive ciabatta was seriously, seriously delicious.
It had such an incredibly chewy and delightful texture,
My mom said it tasted so good, almost like it was made with glutinous rice, and I declared it my 'life ciabatta'! Haha.
So, I went again! LOLOLOL.
I checked into Bonne Nouvelle two days in a row, all because of one bread! Haha.
Yongin Bakery Pilgrimage to Bonne Nouvelle: A Two-Day Streak!

My parents went straight to Ulsan,
But my husband and I (Amy) made a second visit the next day! Haha.
On the second day, we entered through the parking lot entrance!

When I came back in the morning, I noticed even more breads that I hadn't seen the day before.
Seriously, it had only been a few hours since I had the olive ciabatta, but these sandwiches looked absolutely delicious! Lol

The yuzu pretzel looked incredibly refreshing,
and it truly was! So tangy and delicious! Lol

There were also types of bread my husband loves,
but Miranda's strict control kept me from putting them on the tray! Lol

If I eat this, will I go to Hawaii? Lol

You can't go wrong with an olive + cheese combo,
so let's grab this one too!

The campagne bread looked absolutely incredible too!

It was fascinating that one bread was named 'The Wizard of Oz,'
and then there was the thousand-layer croissant with its artistic texture!
Even looking again in the morning, there was no end to the tempting sights!
Bonne Nouvelle's Popular Country Bread: 10:30 AM!

And there was one bread that truly caught our radar:
the Country Bread!!
They say it's a healthy bread with a crispy crust and chewy interior, made by slow-fermenting for over 20 hours at a low temperature, and it's sold in limited quantities daily.
It's released at 10:30 AM, so we were just lingering around, and as the time approached, people started gathering one by one.
If you're aiming to get the Country Bread,
I recommend going right when it comes out!
We quickly lined up and put it on our tray, and the aroma wafting from the steaming bread
was just incredible!!
We desperately wanted to tear into the bread right then and there, but then the gentleman behind us, after waiting, actually started tearing and eating his bread, which made us burst out laughing! Lol

You could immediately tell how popular it was, as almost every tray had Country Bread on it.

We each put the bread we wanted on our trays,
and Amy and Miranda (the sisters) ended up with almost the exact same breads, except for one Emmental cheese bread! Lol
It wasn't even a 'spot the difference' game, we just picked the same breads and burst out laughing at each other! Lol

Just by looking at the air holes, you can tell the Country Bread is delicious, right? Lol

And on this day, my husband paid for ~$44 worth of bread on my behalf! Lol

We also checked out the chocolate sets we hadn't seen the day before,
and truly enjoyed our bread shopping spree that morning.
Bonne Nouvelle Bakery: Making Me Envious of Yongin Residents

Seeing the local residents drop by for bread in their comfy clothes first thing in the morning,
I couldn't help but feel so envious! Haha!

Although I couldn't get a group shot of all the bread we bought the day before,
I managed to snap a quick 'bread hunting' photo on the way out, feeling a bit sad to leave.

Amy and I kept saying to each other how we were SO incredibly envious of Samdol-i and
the residents living in the 'Bonne Nouvelle Zone' (the bakery's sphere of influence),
and wondering why our own neighborhoods didn't have a bakery like this! Haha!
The parking lot is spacious, the store itself is huge,
and the variety of bread is simply amazing.
But most importantly, every single bread item we tried was delicious,
making it not just a one-time visit kind of place,
but a bakery you'll want to revisit the very next day!
Among the things I tried,
the Olive Ciabatta was absolutely top of the top,
and I also highly recommend their daily limited 'country bread'!
If you're looking for a large bakery with easy parking in Yongin's Suji area,
or a spot for your 'bread pilgrimage,' I highly recommend Bonne Nouvelle Bakery!!
Next time, I'm going to make sure to try all the breads I missed this visit,
and really clean them out! Haha!
Samdol-i, I'm so incredibly envious....
