Bonne Nouvelle Bakery Yongin Review 2026: Suji's Must-Visit Cafe
Stumbled upon Bonne Nouvelle Bakery in Yongin, a true 'bread pilgrimage' destination! This massive Suji cafe boasts incredible pastries and a vibrant atmosphere you won't want to miss.
On the weekend, I visited my sibling's new place for a housewarming,
and there I discovered the bakery of my dreams!
The Aesthetics of Small Differences

Even from the road, it was captivating, making you say 'Wow!'
There was an overwhelmingly impressive building,
and that turned out to be Bonnewell.
If Cheonan has Tous Jours,
then Yongin has Bonnewell!
Oh, if only my neighborhood had a bakery like this! 🥹
(I'd probably be rolling around by now...)
Hahaha!

The parking lot is super spacious,
yet even that vast lot was almost completely full,
and there were even three parking attendants!

Bonnewell occupies everything from B1 to the 3rd floor!

Bonnewell: Forged by the Dreams of the Seo Brothers
It's incredible how dedicated these brothers are to bread!
Their parents must feel so proud, it's like they're full just watching them!
The person who nurtured these bread-making talents,
CEO Seo Kang-heon,
his story was featured in videos playing behind the counter.
I thought, 'How amazing!' 👍🏻👍🏻

Over 250 Varieties of Bakery Delights
My sibling claims there are 250 varieties,
and it really does seem like that many!
An absolutely incredible selection of baked goods.
Even though I visited in the afternoon,
there was still an amazing array of bread.

A summer cucumber baguette?! 💚
🥒 🥒 🥒
And you know, I absolutely adore cucumbers!

Each bread comes with simple descriptions,
including ingredients,
and for these times, the prices are really reasonable!

A display board for the origin of 130 types of baked goods
It's so packed with information!

I love focaccia too...
And mentaiko baguette...
(Spoiler alert: I bought them!)
It's simply a grand feast of all the breads I adore!
This is truly bread heaven!

This week's most popular bread
Oops, I mean... most *sold* bread!
Nurungji Salt Bread

There were also tons of cookies and other baked treats.

OMG, those slice cakes are absolutely mesmerizing!
👀

And guess what? Bonheur Bell is also renowned for its amazing Campagne bread, sourdough, and other delicious loaves!
This place, which opened its doors back in 2002,
still makes frequent appearances on TV!
Apparently, their matcha bread was recently featured once again on the popular show Saengsaengjeongbo.

From baked almond doughnuts to breads perfect for a quick meal at home,
and even beautifully packaged options that make fantastic gifts,
they truly have it all!

There are so many luxurious packages that look like something straight out of a Japanese airport duty-free shop!
Aimyranda (that's me!) wandered through Bonheur Bell,
exclaiming 'ooh' and 'aah' like a wide-eyed country mouse,
completely captivated by it all.

They have cakes too!

Is that a Mint Strawberry Fraisier...?
Oh, that refreshing lemon, that delightful mint aroma...
It's like this cake is literally introducing itself as my absolute favorite!
ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
I *definitely* should've bought this for the housewarming party!

And check out this magnificent Callebaut Chocolate Hojakdo,
crafted from a whopping 80kg of chocolate!
The powerful energy of the proud tiger is said to convey a message of
warding off misfortune and inviting good luck.
It's truly a masterpiece of art, isn't it?

As you head up the stairs to the second and third floors, you'll spot medals, 'Master Champion' plaques, and more!
It was so much fun looking at all the accolades.

Bonheur Bell Bakery: Second and Third Floor Cafe
Place your order on the 1st floor,
then head up to the 2nd floor for pickup‼️
You can also grab coffees and other beverages
to pair perfectly with the freshly baked treats you just bought.
Both the second and third floors were absolutely brimming with tables,
and the space was almost entirely filled with happy customers!

The parking lot was absolutely packed with cars...
and it turns out, all those people were right here enjoying the amazing treats!

Because I ate so much starting from lunch,
I just bought a simple ciabatta and a few other things,
and ate them lightly the next morning,
but I ended up discovering the ciabatta of my life...
It was chewy and savory/nutty,
with fermentation that could rival even the finest bakeries,
and it paired so perfectly with coffee ㅠㅠㅠㅠ I was absolutely smitten!
It felt a shame to go home just like that,
so I ended up visiting a second time.

On the second day,
I entered through the parking lot entrance.
Yongin Special City Joa-Yong's Must-Try Spot

Yongin's character is so cute! 🐲

When I went in the morning,
I saw breads that weren't there the day before,
making me think it was definitely worth coming two days in a row.

Olives and cheese,
a combination that simply can't go wrong.

As for the mango dessert,
it even came with whipped cream.

The Campagne bread was absolutely insane too.
Since it was morning, they were baking bread inside,
and the butter smell was just incredible...
Ahhh,
it was pure heaven, I tell you!

Slowly fermented for over 20 hours through cold proofing,
resulting in a bread that is
crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and healthy.
They said it would be ready at 10:30 AM,
so I thought about waiting a bit,
but the atmosphere on the first floor felt different...
Everyone was waiting for the 'Country Bread'!

As the time drew near, a line started forming,
so I quickly joined it and loaded up my tray.
The steaming hot Country Bread...
The gentleman behind me,
eventually couldn't resist and right there in the checkout line,
he started tearing into the bread and eating it.

On everyone's trays,
there was Country Bread...

🥯🍞 Spot the difference!
These are the trays my sister and I each picked,
and our tastes are so similar, LOL, we ended up with almost the exact same things! Haha.
Only the Emmental bread is different...
It's a shame, I wish we lived together – we could have filled our trays with so much more variety!

And the peach cake was absolutely loaded with peaches,
making it seem like the perfect seasonal treat!

We ended up buying about ~$44 worth of bread!

I was a tiny bit concerned that the bread was openly displayed,
but it's still a bakery I really wish we had in my neighborhood!

Oh, those of you in Suji who live near a Bonheur Belle (especially my sister!),
How lucky you are...
