Bohol Weather in June & July 2026: Rainy Season Travel Guide

As the summer vacation season approaches in June and July 2026, many of you might be dreaming of a trip to the stunning shores of Bohol, Philippines. However, this period also marks the start of the island's rainy season, which might make some travelers hesitate.

Today, I'm sharing insights based on my personal experience and research to tell you exactly what the weather is like in Bohol during June and July, along with essential tips on what to wear and what to pack.

Bohol Basic Information

June & July Weather in Bohol

Bohol experiences its dry season from December to May, while the rainy season runs from June to November. As June and July fall squarely within the rainy season, you'll often see rain forecasted.

However, there's no need to worry much! The rain typically comes in the form of short, intense downpours, known as 'skies' or 'squalls,' which quickly pass, giving way to sunshine again.

Of course, the average daytime high temperatures hover around 86-91°F (30-33°C), so it does get quite hot. But since most Bohol trips involve plenty of swimming and water activities, the heat generally isn't a major concern.

Before or during a downpour, the sky might turn dark and cloudy, but it truly clears up quickly. From my experience, it usually lasts only about an hour or two.

Once the rain stops, the sun shines brightly, often making the weather even clearer and more vibrant than before! So, even if it rains, your plans for activities like island hopping won't be disrupted. There's absolutely no need to avoid or hesitate about a Bohol trip in June or July because of the weather!

What to Wear in Bohol

With a packed schedule of water activities, most travelers spend their days in swimsuits or rash guards. Whether you're on an island-hopping tour or enjoying a meal afterward, a rash guard is often your go-to attire!

When dining near the resort beach, I opted for light short-sleeved shirts and shorts. However, remember that the sun is intense during the day, so if you plan to wear short sleeves, sunscreen is an absolute must!

I also booked a resort with a large swimming pool, so I practically lived in my rash guard until bedtime, swimming and enjoying the facilities.

Essential Packing List for Bohol

To enter the Philippines, completing the eTravel registration is mandatory, similar to other countries. Make sure to fill it out before your flight.

Additionally, you'll find yourself using cash frequently in Bohol, so it's a good idea to exchange plenty of Philippine Pesos (PHP).

Other essential items include swimsuits or rash guards, comfortable flip-flops, a waterproof bag, a hat or sunglasses for sun protection, a lightweight raincoat or foldable umbrella, and of course, plenty of sunscreen!

While June and July in Bohol mark the start of the rainy season, which might initially cause some concern, my personal experience was overwhelmingly positive. The rain typically passes quickly, and the air afterward often feels clearer and fresher, making for truly enjoyable moments.

Of course, you can't guarantee consistently sunny days like in the dry season, but a significant advantage of visiting during this time is fewer tourists, allowing for a more tranquil and authentic experience.
