Venice Mestre Station Hotel Tritone Review: 2-Night, 3-Day Honeymoon Stay
Words & Photos ©️ Yoonneu
Hello everyone! 🩷
I'm Yoonneu, your travel blogger!
For our honeymoon, we spent
about two weeks exploring Europe,
and among all the places, choosing our accommodation in Venice
was the biggest decision.
After spending about a week in Paris,
we flew to Venice, Italy.
When it came to picking our Venice accommodation,
the first big question we wrestled with was:
the main island or Mestre?

My husband and I looked into
various options, and in the end,
we decided on the
Best Western Hotel Tritone near Mestre Station.
Looking back, I truly feel we made the perfect choice!
Our Venice itinerary was for 2 nights and 3 days,
and we didn't need to change hotels at all.
Hotel Tritone at Mestre Station was perfectly sufficient for our entire stay.
Venice Mestre Station Hotel Tritone: Location and Check-in

First, let's talk about the location.
From Mestre Station,
you just cross one street, and you're right at the hotel entrance.
Even with luggage, it's just a 3-minute walk

To get to Venice's main island,
it's just a 10-minute bus ride.
The prices were more affordable than hotels on the main island,
the facilities were excellent,
and transportation costs were also low,
so we were incredibly satisfied with the location.

The lobby had a classic atmosphere,
and the staff were really helpful
and kind during check-in.

When you're on a honeymoon exploring various parts of Europe,
your luggage can pile up.
Having a hotel right in front of the station
is a huge advantage, both for safety
and for your energy levels!
Mestre Station Instead of Venice Main Island: Booking Site Price Comparison

Many people planning a trip to Venice
tend to only consider accommodations on the main island.
But if you're thinking about a Dolomites tour or similar excursions,
When you're doing day tours near Venice,
the meeting points for all tours are at Mestre Station.
it's even better to look for accommodation in this area!

Although we didn't take any separate tours,
for visiting Burano and Murano islands,
and for exploring the main island of Venice,
this location was truly excellent!

For our booking, we compared prices by date across
Agoda, Trip.com, and Yeogieottae (a Korean booking site).
After comparing all of them,
we found the cheapest deal on Trip.com,
a total of ~$258 for 2 nights.
We booked it for the cheapest price.

However, the cheapest site
changes continuously depending on the season
or the specific dates.
Assuming an arbitrary date now,
when I checked the prices,
it turns out Agoda is the cheapest this time?!

So, before you book,
I highly recommend comparing prices on at least these three sites below.
To make it easy for you to check, I've included direct links

Best Western Tritone Rooms and Facilities

Best Western Hotel Tritone is
a classic-style hotel with 81 rooms
spread across 7 floors.

The bathroom amenities
are by Salvatore Ferragamo,
so they're quite nice.
For a budget-friendly hotel,
the details weren't bad at all.

The rooms also offer a complimentary minibar,
and the satellite TV and free Wi-Fi
worked quite well.

However, since it is a budget-friendly hotel,
the room size itself
wasn't particularly spacious.
But since we were on our honeymoon
and didn't plan to spend much time in the hotel,
only using it to sleep after sightseeing,
it wasn't a major inconvenience for us.

Having a table, it was actually
great for enjoying ramen as a late-night snack.

Tritone Hotel Breakfast Information

To be honest,
we didn't sign up for breakfast separately!
We deliberated whether or not to include breakfast,
but decided to enjoy breakfast at a nearby restaurant instead...!

But for those of you who are hotel breakfast fans,
we looked into breakfast reviews when we made our reservation,
so let us share what we found:
The breakfast at Best Western Tritone Hotel is
served from 6 AM to 10 AM, and it's an
American-style
buffet.

After checking the reviews,
many mentioned that the tomato and burrata cheese salad was particularly delicious,
and there were quite a few comments about the wide variety of breads, from muffins and beyond.
If you typically prefer an American-style
breakfast,
it might be a good idea to add it to your booking!

Especially when heading out for a tour,
it's important to have a hearty breakfast before you go, so
it might be worth booking breakfast just for those days!

Other Pros and Cons of Best Western Tritone

The biggest advantage is definitely the location!
Its proximity to Venezia Mestre Station,
and the highly satisfactory facilities for the price!
The room and bathroom were on the smaller side,
but not to the point of being inconvenient!

Since our plan was to sightsee on the main island of Venice during the day
and just sleep at the accommodation,
these minor drawbacks weren't a big issue at all!
We didn't really feel any particular discomfort!
Hotel Tritone at Venezia Mestre Station: Pre-Booking Checklist

To summarize, Hotel Tritone at Venezia Mestre Station offers:
10 minutes to the main island,
affordable transportation costs,

and convenient access for tours to Burano, Murano, and
the Dolomites.
Its easily accessible location is
its biggest advantage.

However, keep in mind that room conditions can
vary between hotels and even individual rooms.
Also, be aware that breakfast must be checked for pricing
and requested separately.
If you keep these points in mind
before booking, you should have a great stay.

Whether you're planning a romantic honeymoon or a solo adventure,
if you're trying to decide on accommodation in Venice,
I highly recommend checking out Hotel Tritone near Mestre Station.
Its location is truly unbeatable,
so it's definitely worth comparing!
